I’m making direct edits to the PHP templates files contained within:

    /plugins/accelerated-mobile-pages/templates/design-manager/

    Specifically files related to design-3

Will I run into issues upgrading the plugin for future releases since I will be editing these template files?

Thanks guys – we really appreciate your help here. This seems to be the only plugin out there doing a good job of AMP.

Yes is the answer in terms of having issues. In most cases you can simply copy your theme back or at least your modified file but sometimes it is inevitable that a file will be changed in terms of its functionality or another core file and your version my not work.

There is an advanced way on the developer’s web site to use your own theme. The last time I tried it I wasn’t completely successful in using the framework https://ampforwp.com/tutorials/article/install-activate-amp-theme-framework/ – you could have a play and see if it works for you.

Thanks @frenchomatic – this is helpful. I’ll check out that framework.

    Noted:

Document any changes made to any plugin files prior to a version upgrade.
