Big upgrade with Child Theme

Hi Guys, been using Huemann for many years now. Thank you for the excellent work.

However, my parent theme is currently at 2.2.3.

The current version is 3.3.27.

I’m using a child theme for menus and widgets only. No custom CSS that I can see…

I have some Typecase plugin adjustments for Google Fonts for various <Hx> headers, but other than that – I don’t believe much else has been changed.

I’m very nervous to update the parent theme from 2.2.3 to 3.3.27. I have installed WP Rollback plugin (never used before) just in case the upgrade goes bad.

DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE for the best way to ensure a smooth upgrade?

Can I see the main differences between an old 2.2.3 install and the latest 3.3.27 version? What should I be aware of?

I want to become current for various reasons, but cannot quite pull the trigger yet.

Just don’t want to break the site. A broken site is the worst thing ever.

Please let us know if there is a proper way to make such a major version upgrade go completely smooth!
