Elementor Static Front Page Preview Bug
-
Hello,
I’ve been having a problem with elementor’s preview not working for any given page when such page is set as a static homepage through the customizer (appearance > customizer), even on complete fresh installs (wordpress + stock themes + just elementor installed).
I went through the github issues and couldn’t find anything regarding this. It has been happening to me for a couple of months now. So if anyone has any info on this being a known bug, please let me know.
The problem is essentially that any page that is set as static homepage is not able to preview any changes it is made to it using elementor. If the changes are published, they are reflected in the page normally. If the page is deselected from being homepage, then the preview function of elementor works normally again. The moment it is selected as homepage, elementor preview stops showing changes.
I’m looking for some input to see if this is happening to other people. I’ve been trying to debug this for a while already, I can replicate it on a completely fresh install of wordpress with just elementor installed using the stock theme, so it is not a plugin issue. I’ve tried php 5.6 and the subversions of php 7 and the problem persists. I’ve tried running apache, instead of nginx, problem persists. It is also present in fresh install on my hosting, as well as a fresh install using local by flywheel. Ensured caching is disabled so it’s not a caching issue. Tried different browsers (firefox and chrome) and it still happens.
I’m out of ideas as to what else to try, I’m open to suggestions. The workaround I currently use is essentiall is having the home as a page template in the library, then importing it into the designated static hoempage.
