thanks for the swift reply!
I checked and the website is about 250 MB, and I have more than 1.5 GB of free space on the server, so that should not be the problem…
any ideas?

The plugin needs to have access to be able to function on your site.
Can you check that you have set permissions on your wp-content directory to 775 recursively?
