Hi @meganschweitzer,
Thanks for your message.
All the available shortcodes and which notifications these are available for can be found here: https://betternotificationsforwp.com/documentation/notifications/shortcodes
Which notification are you trying to add this shortcode to?
Hi,
Thank you so much for your quick reply. I am trying to add this shortcode to a Notification for “New user registration for admin”. Additionally, within the send to field, a specific user role has been selected. We are currently not able to add the shortcode [password_reset_link] to these notifications. If this shortcode cannot be used how are the new users supposed to set their password?
Please advise at your earliest convenience.
Thank you so much!
Best,
Megan
Hi @meganschweitzer,
If you take a look at the page I linked to above, you’ll see that the [password_reset_link] shortcode isn’t listed for the New User Registration – For Admin notification. This is because it can’t be used here. In fact, the only notification that shortcode can be used for is in the User Lost Password – For User notification.
If you want a user to be able to set their password, you’ll need to use the [password_url] shortcode and the New User Registration – For User notification. This is the notification that is sent to the user when they register. The New User Registration – For Admin notification is sent to the admin at the same time and lets the admin know a new user has registered. Details on all the notifications, what they do, and when they are sent, can be found here: https://betternotificationsforwp.com/documentation/notifications/types-of-notification/
Hope this helps.
