This question is not directly related to Content Aware Sidebars, but I am wondering why sidebars are not possible in main content areas, since no theme are offering this option?

Is the main content area of a different nature than, e.g. header, footer, sidebar since sidebars are not an option here?

    Regards
    Carsten

Yes, in WordPress a theme needs to register/define a location where a widget area should be displayed.

However, Content Aware Sidebars also allows you to insert widget areas directly in a post or page with the [ca-sidebar id=””] shortcode.

In addition to that, in the Pro version it is possible to insert widget areas in new locations not defined by the theme, e.g. above or below content, above or below footer, and above and below the header (some themes only).
