Embedded Shortcode

Hello. I was wondering if it were possible to embed shortcodes within the document. For example, I am wanting to make some text within the document collapsible using another plugin. However, I am unsure how to go about doing this? Is the only solution to break up the document into part 1 (pre collapse), insert my short code + data, and then continue with part 2 (post collapse)?
