  • Have you tried to disabled your Google Recaptcha Plugin from FTP ?
Just try to rename the folder to something else.

And then back to your login page, see if the Google Recaptcha is still there or has gone

I just went to my FTP account i did nt even see google recaptcha plugin there…am just so confused right now

I failed to update before the shutdown, as well. I was just able to enter past where you would have to type in the reCAPTCHA image, and login as usual.

Someone should help me out how can I disable it…am locked out

I’m not quite sure what caused this, you mentioned that you have a Google Recaptcha Plugin, but then you didn’t see it inside your wp-plugins folder.

Can you check the code inside wp-login.php? Can you paste it in pastebin.com or similar service, and paste the link here.

Please how can I get to my wp-plugins folder and also please teach me how to paste it in the pastebin I think am getting solutions

Access your WordPress directory using an FTP client such as SmartFTP, WinSCP, or FileZilla, connect it with your FTP account (You can get it from your Hosting Provider, ask them if, and they will let you know, or you can check it in your web hosting panel).

Inside your WordPress directory, there is your wp-login.php, download it with your FTP client and open it with your text editor, then go to to pastebin

On pastebin, just paste whatever codes inside your wp-login.php, and then click Create New Paste.

My guess in this issue is that there’s a code written inside your wp-login.php, so let’s check it.

Afterward, copy your pastebin link here.

Did any of these solutions work for you? I have the same problem and I am stuck. Thanks for your help in advance.

Oddly enough, I entered a space in the reCAPTCHa field and got past the old gate to the WordPress admin login screen.

I got the same problem. Yesterday I had the recaptcha V3 site type key and secret key input into a frontend plugin for login and registration purposes. After that, I found “error for site owner: invalid key type” appeared in the reCAPTCHA box. This happens in both the website login and the WPadmin login. Therefore I cannot go into the WP dashboard to do any adjustment or correction. Please help to solve this problem.

Delete the captcha plugin folder with ftp!
