Can anyone give me suggestions on where to start? My blog was working great. I used the default theme and never added or changed anything. I decided to update to see what the new version would be like… I’m still hopeful I only have a small problem and will soon realize 2.7.1.

contact me and let me look at it
click on my name – then contact button at top of test site

Okay. Here is some of my progress. I read some of the other related threads. And tried two things.

1)I renamed my plugin folder. Even though I am 99% I never added a plugin I did this just in case I had added one by accident???

    RESULT>> No Change.

    2)I renamed my .htaccess file.

    RESULT>> Now I get a 404 Error – Not found.

What a refreshing thing to get a new error. Any advice from anyone would be appreciated.

Upon further research of past threads I am suspicious of my permalinks not being compatable with my .htaccess file… But, I’m not sure what I need to do. I can’t even getto the dashboard. My upgrade is still not complete yet.

I contacted my server and the problem is resolved.

There is a cgi-bin folder in my domain folder which I deleted by mistake when I deleted all the old wordpress folders.

My server replaced the file and everything is okay now!
