Hey Ivan,
If you’re experiencing CPU usage spikes, you might also want to edit the “Send With” options to limit the amount of emails being sent per hour. This should bring your CPU usage down.

@wysija sadly the CPU spike situation got so bad that this morning Siteground locked my website.
I’ll have to pay for a more powerful server solution.
In the meantime, I opended a ticket with the siteground support team, and they answered blameing these queries that, accoirding to them, are too “heavy”:
