Private Groups & Search Result Page

    First of all: Great plugin! Works great for our testplattform (a social intranet: WordPress + Buddypress + bbPress).

    My Problem: I’ve created a private forum with your plugin. I logged in with a testuser who is not a member of this private forum. I did a search with a keyword (which i placed in a thread inside the private forum) – and the thread with the keyword showed up in the search result page.

    So is it possible to hide private forums (and their threads) from the search results for users which are not members of private forums?

    Search Plugin which i use: BuddyPress Global Search. Tested different search plugins – but all display the private forum in their search results. So i think it’s not related to them.

    Sry for my bad english – hopefully you can understand my problem.

    ok, the basic forum search has the filter that protects. The basic wordpress search does not include forums.

    Other search plugins will directly access the database, so my plugin cannot provide protection without coding being added.

    I’ve had a quick look and Buddypress GS does not provide a good filter for me to hook to.

    I could code a fix, but updates to buddypress would overwrite it, and it would be beyond free help

    Thanks Robin for your fast answer.

    That sounds not very good – BuddyPress Global Search is near perfect for our Intranet (woffice Premium Theme). I tried many search Plugins (free & paid) which supports BuddyPress & bbPress – but no Plugin has the ability of BuddyPress Global Search (which support also the Wiki-Module of the woffice theme out of the box). Okay – it’s look like we must cancel the feature of private forums. :-/ A good global search feature is more important.
