Suggestion: Duplicate and Replicate sidebar

    Hello guys,

    My contact is to give a suggestion to the WordPress development team.

    When a site has several categories and subcategories and the subjects of each category are different from each other then we usually want to put different content in each category and relate to those categories.

    So you could give the possibility to create more frames to put the widgets, separated by categories. As it is currently, you can only place widgets in the default frames where it is shown in all categories of the site.

    These custom frames for a given category would be created manually, only for the category we want to customize the sidebar.

    And when creating multiple widget frames (one for each category), you may have some widgets where we want to be the same for all widget frames. So you could have the ability to duplicate those widgets where you would keep the settings already made.
    And I might also be able to replicate the widgets and select which categories I want the widget to replicate as well. So, it would be much easier to place the widgets.

    This really a theming issue. You can create any number of sidebars and display them based on all sorts of conditions. Or, you can use plugins like “widget context” or “widget logic” to decide which widgets to display, when.
