I have just migrated my GoDaddy hosted WP site to Penguin UK
I used the WP Import facility on Penguin
All has gone to plan and the new Server displays the download files and a new DB
The site is till running on Godaddy as I have no yet updated the Nameservers
Using File Manager on the new server,how can I check that WP is fully functional before switching the NS
I am new to WP, being used to running “index.htm”.
Basically how can I see if its migrated over correctly as I cant risk it being off-line

Hey @bures,

Penguin UK may have provided an IP address for you to view the site on until the domain is transferred (some hosts do this). You can also edit your hosts file on your local computer to point to the Penguin UK IP at the domain name so that your computer thinks the domain name is really on the Penguin Servers.

On their confirmation email regarding Hosting their is an IP address
I will give that a try
