I recommend asking at https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/wordfence#new-post so the plugin’s / theme’s developers and support community can help you with this.

    Hi
Was your WordPress website developed on a local computer first or somewhere else on another computer or hosted on another web server and then backed up and restored onto your different domain name or web host?

If so then that’s why Wordfence says it was created from outside of WordPress. I sometimes develop my sites on my laptop first and then migrate it to the actual domain name.

If this the case with you then you can click Ignore but if it isn’t then you need investigate further.

    Thanks, Steve – I will re-post there.

Colin, thank you for taking the time to reply. My blog has always been hosted by BlueHost, and has always been backed up using the WPBackItUp plugin. BlueHost tech support say there is nothing to indicate that my site has been hacked, so I’ve been left very confused as to why WordFence keeps raising this issue.

    Hi
Contact Wordfence as Steve suggested and see if they have any answers to this problem.
