WM Support Assistant

Description

WM Support Assistant adds a searchable FAQ knowledge base and self-service support system to WordPress.

Create structured frequently asked questions, help visitors find relevant answers and provide an integrated contact form when no suitable answer is available. Use the floating Support Assistant across your website or publish the same FAQ content as a standalone help center using a shortcode.

Important: This is not an AI chatbot

WM Support Assistant is not a generative AI chatbot and does not generate answers automatically.

Visitors search the FAQ content you define in WordPress, and the plugin displays matching answers from your own knowledge base. This keeps your support content predictable and under your control.

No external chatbot or hosted support platform is required for the core FAQ functionality. Your FAQs, settings and support content remain under your control within WordPress.

Searchable FAQ Knowledge Base

Create and organize FAQs directly in WordPress using dedicated categories and tags. Additional search keywords and synonyms can be assigned to individual FAQs to improve the quality of search results.

The weighted search system can consider titles, content, categories, tags and additional keywords when determining relevant answers.

This gives you a predictable support experience based on content you have created and approved yourself.

Floating Support Assistant

The responsive Support Assistant can be displayed across your website and allows visitors to search your knowledge base without leaving the current page.

Selected FAQs can also be marked as instant answers and displayed directly when the Support Assistant is opened.

Features include:

  • Weighted FAQ search
  • Instant answers
  • Related questions
  • Progressive “Show more” loading
  • Helpful / not helpful feedback
  • Integrated contact form fallback
  • Responsive visibility settings
  • Configurable colors and dimensions
  • Editable frontend texts and labels

Standalone FAQ and Help Center

Use the following shortcode to create a dedicated FAQ or help-center page:

[wmsa_support_assistant]

The standalone view can include:

  • FAQ search
  • Category filters
  • FAQ counts
  • Accordion answers
  • Optional helpful / not helpful voting

The same FAQ content can therefore be used both inside the floating Support Assistant and on a dedicated support or help-center page.

Contact Form Fallback

If visitors cannot find a suitable answer, they can use the integrated contact form instead of leaving the support flow.

Messages are sent using the standard WordPress wp_mail() function. The form also includes built-in measures to reduce automated spam submissions.

FAQ Management

Frequently used support content can be managed directly from the WordPress administration area.

Included management features:

  • FAQ categories and tags
  • Search keywords and synonyms
  • Instant-answer selection
  • FAQ duplication
  • JSON import and export
  • Import and export of plugin settings

Usage and Liability Notices

Optional informational notices can be displayed below the Support Assistant search and on the standalone FAQ page.

Links can be placed directly inside the notice text using the [link]...[/link] placeholder. Font size and text color can also be configured.

The plugin additionally includes a generator for creating a draft sample page for operator-specific usage or liability information. Generated sample texts are intended as a starting point only and include reminders that legal content should be reviewed and adapted by the website operator where necessary.

Privacy and External Services

WM Support Assistant does not require a generative AI service, external chatbot or hosted support platform for its core FAQ and search functionality.

FAQ content and plugin settings are managed within your WordPress installation.
