Description
Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1960 fixes two pieces of content that shops selling to consumers in the EU have to display: the harmonised notice on the legal guarantee of conformity (Annex I) and the harmonised label for the commercial guarantee of durability (Annex II), the label the Regulation itself titles “GARAN”. This plugin renders both, from the Commission’s own published files, and records what was shown.
What it does
- The notice is shop-level: a compact row that opens the full official notice, shown on your catalogue and at checkout, plus a menu link, a block, a shortcode and a widget. It follows the language of the country the visitor is buying from, not the browser language.
- The durability label is per product: enter the three fields the official label allows (duration, brand, model identifier) and the plugin renders the label with them filled in, plus the nested label that opens into the full one. It appears before add-to-cart, again before the order is placed, and in the order confirmation email.
- Language by country of sale: 24 official EU language versions of the notice are shipped; you set a default and the plugin resolves the rest from the visitor’s country and the order’s country.
- Display record: every notice and label shown is logged (surface, country, language, content hash) and can be exported to CSV from the settings page.
What it deliberately does not do
- It does not decide whether a notice or a label applies to your shop or to a product.
- It does not translate, redraw or reformat the official files — they are served as published. The label is shipped with the Inter typeface the Regulation prescribes for its three editable fields, embedded in the file so it renders the same on every device.
- It does not report your store as “compliant”. There is no badge, no seal, no tick. Whether the rules apply to you is a judgement you (and, if needed, your adviser) must make.
There is also a paid plugin by the same author that adds a library of statutory product-safety warnings (10 toy categories, 253 official texts in 23 EU languages) and priority support. Nothing in this plugin is locked or limited by it: this one is complete for what it does. See https://werkmade.com/products/eu-compliance-suite/

FAQ
-
Does this make my store compliant?
-
No. It displays the official content you declare, in the language of the country of sale, and records that it was displayed. Whether a notice or a label applies is a judgement you (and your adviser) must make.
-
Which language is shown?
-
The language of the Member State where the goods are made available. Practically: the order’s country for emails, the visitor’s country for shop pages. You can also follow the page language of a multilingual plugin such as Polylang or WPML.
-
Can I show the notice on a site that does not run WooCommerce?
-
Yes. The notice needs no shop data, so the block and the shortcodes work on any WordPress site.
-
Where does the content come from?
-
The official files published by the European Commission: the Annex I notice and the Annex II label of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1960. Both are reproduced unmodified, including the label’s own title, which is part of the required design. © European Union, reused under Commission Decision 2011/833/EU, with the source acknowledged. The label’s editable fields use the Inter typeface, bundled under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.
-
Is there a paid version?
-
Yes, a separate paid plugin adds the statutory warning library (Module C) and priority support. This plugin is not a trial: everything it describes is included and stays free, and updates come from the WordPress.org directory. See https://werkmade.com/products/eu-compliance-suite/
-
Is this an official European Union product?
-
No. This is an independent plugin by Werkmade. It is not endorsed by, affiliated with or produced by the European Commission or any EU body; it only displays the files the Commission publishes.

Changelog
0.3.4
- Readme only: states what the free plugin includes and links to the paid plugin for the statutory warning library. No code changes.
0.3.3
- Settings EU Compliance: the two preview boxes now scale the official artwork to the box width. The 1654×2339 px notice used to render at natural size and forced a page-wide horizontal scrollbar in wp-admin.
0.3.2
- Every generated HTML output now passes through one
wp_kses()allowlist (EUCS_Output), so escaping happens at the point of output; plain-text email bodies go throughwp_strip_all_tags(). - The label artwork now carries the Inter typeface it prescribes as an embedded font inside the file itself, prepared at build time — the plugin generates no CSS at runtime, and the artwork stays byte-identical underneath (the font block can be stripped and checked against the Commission’s file).
- Translation strings and their placeholders are escaped where they are combined, not only where they are printed.
0.3.1
- Renamed to Werkmade Guarantee Notice & Durability Label (new slug, new text domain).
- Every class, option, transient and script handle is now prefixed
EUCS_/eucs_. - Readme housekeeping: five tags, shorter short description, correct contributor.
0.3.0
- First public release as a standalone plugin: the EU legal guarantee notice (Annex I) and the Annex II durability label, placement on catalogue / product / cart / checkout / order email, blocks, shortcodes and a widget, the country language resolution and the display record with CSV export.
