This plugin hasn’t been tested with the latest 3 major releases of WordPress. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.




The plugin provides a sidebar widget, that displays the
latest trending topics of the german-speaking twitterspehre.

It is highly customizable. You can choose, whether to
display #hashtags only or all topics. For hashtags, there are
explanations, so that visitors can understand, what e.g. #tcot means.
The explanations for hashtags come from the
twitter-account “@definiere”, where everybody can explain a hashtag.


Das Plugin stellt ein Widget für die Sidebar bereit, womit die aktuellen Twitterthemen aus der
deutschsprachigen Twitterspäre im Stile der Trending Topics auf angezeigt werden.

Sie können in den Einstellungen wählen, ob Sie nur #Hashtags (rss-Feed) aus der deutschsprachigen Twitterspähre anzeigen lassen wollen, oder alle relevanten Themen (rss-Feed).

Zudem haben Sie die Möglichkeit, Beschreibungen zu einzelnen Hashtags anzeigen zu lassen.
Die Beschreibungen stammen aus den öffentlichen @replies der Community an
@definiere ( #Hashtag Ihre_Beschreibung. Eine Übersicht über alle Beschreibungen
gibt es hier unter


  • Go to the Appearence / Widgets menu,
  • Active the widget named: twitterthemen by dragging and dropping it on the sidebar-section
  • Configure it, through the widget menu.


  • There are a couple of customizations


  1. The plugin is available for download on the WordPress repository,
  2. Download the file, and uncompress it,
  3. Upload the resulting files to a folder in ../wp-content/plugins/,
  4. Activate Twitterthemen through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress,
  5. The plugin is ready to be used.
