Pro is activated with a license key from wptrueproof.com. Activating a key validates it with our store — see Privacy below.
Privacy
TrueProof only reads data that already exists on your own site (orders, users, comments) and never sends that data to third parties. Displayed names can be anonymised to first name + initial. See the FAQ for the exact data shown.
The only time the plugin contacts an external server is when you activate a Pro license: your license key and your site URL are sent to the TrueProof store at wptrueproof.com to verify the key and count site activations. The free version never makes any external request.

Installation
- Upload the
trueprooffolder to/wp-content/plugins/, or install via Plugins Add New. - Activate the plugin.
- Go to Settings TrueProof, choose your mode (start with Simulation), pick your data sources, and save.

Does it show fake data?

Only if you explicitly enable Simulation Mode, which always displays a visible “Demo” badge. Real Data Mode shows only genuine events from your own site.

What exactly is shown to visitors?

A first name (optionally anonymised to first name + initial), an optional city/country, the action (e.g. “purchased …”, “signed up”, “left a review”) and a relative time. No emails, no full addresses, no order totals.

Does it slow my site down?

No. The frontend is a tiny vanilla-JS script and events are cached server-side for a few minutes.

Is it GDPR-friendly?

Yes. Names can be anonymised, only first-party data is used, and nothing is sent to third parties.

Does it require WooCommerce?

No. WooCommerce is an optional source. Without it you can still show comments/reviews or use Simulation Mode. EDD and new-user signups are part of TrueProof Pro.

Does the plugin connect to any external server?

The free version makes no external calls at all. If you buy TrueProof Pro and activate your license key, the plugin sends only that key and your site URL to the TrueProof store (wptrueproof.com) to validate it. No personal data and no visitor data is ever transmitted.

How do I get Pro features?

Buy a license at wptrueproof.com, then paste the key into Settings TrueProof License and click Activate.
