This plugin hasn’t been tested with the latest 3 major releases of WordPress. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.

TextMe sends a carbon-copy of all admin emails via a SMS text-message to a specified phone number.

TextMe is compatible with these carriers: * T-Mobile * Virgin Mobile * Cingular * Sprint * Verizon * Nextel

Any customer of any of these carriers will be able to receive text messages from TextMe.

  1. Upload textme.php to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in the WordPress dashboard
  3. View the ‘TextMe’ page of the ‘Options’ menu in the WordPress dashboard
  4. Configure TextMe by specifying a phone number and a carrier

Will I be charged for receiving these text messages?

Technically, yes. All standard carrier text-messaging fees still apply. If you are charged for receiving text messages, you will be charged for receiving text messages from TextMe. Normally, if you have an unlimited texting plan, you will not be charged anything by your carrier for that single text.

My carrier isn’t supported. What do I do?

TextMe utilizes a email-to-SMS service that all of the supported carriers provide. If you are able to find this service for your unsupported carrier, it will be happily implemented. Visit the homepage of this plugin to tell me about it.
