Sure As Ship for WooCommerce connects your store to Sure As Ship, a Canadian shipping platform. Your customers see live commercial rates from Canada Post, FedEx, UPS and Purolator at checkout, and you book labels without leaving WooCommerce.

What you need
- A Sure As Ship account and an API key from it
- A ship-from address in Canada, or in the US for US-registered accounts
- Shipments are billed by Sure As Ship to your account. The plugin itself is free. A test API key books sandbox labels that are never charged, so you can try everything first.
External services
This plugin needs the Sure As Ship API (https://sureasship.com/api/ecommerce/v1), operated by Sure As Ship, to work. Nothing is sent until you save an API key, and nothing is sent that is not needed for the action below.
- At checkout and on the cart page, to show rates: the ship-from postal code, province and country; the destination postal code, city, province, country and company name; the weight and dimensions of each item in the cart; and your rate settings (carriers, packing method and boxes, delivery options). For a destination outside the ship-from country, each cart item’s name, price, quantity, weight, HS code and country of manufacture is also sent, so prepaid US duties can be estimated. No customer name, street address, email or phone number is sent to get rates.
- When a shipment is booked (by you, or automatically if you turn that on): the ship-from address, phone and store admin email; the customer’s name, company, shipping address, phone and email, which the carrier needs for the label; item weights and dimensions; your order ID as a reference; and, for cross-border shipments, each item’s name, value, quantity, weight, HS code and country of manufacture.
- When you test the connection, save settings, or open an order: your API key, to read your account’s name, billing status and allowed ship-from countries, and the order’s labels and customs documents.
- When you create a return, void a shipment or download a label: the Sure As Ship shipment or return ID.
Sure As Ship passes shipment details to the carrier you choose (Canada Post, FedEx, UPS or Purolator) so it can carry the parcel.

Tracking links in the order screen and customer emails point to the carrier’s own tracking page (canadapost-postescanada.ca, fedex.com, ups.com or purolator.com); they are only visited when someone clicks them.

Installation
- In WordPress, go to Plugins > Add New, search for “Sure As Ship”, then install and activate it. WooCommerce must be active.
- Sign in at sureasship.com and create an API key under API Keys. Use a test key first if you like.
- Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > Sure As Ship. Paste the key, click Test Connection, check your ship-from location, choose carriers, and save.
- Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > Shipping zones, edit a zone (for example “Canada”), click “Add shipping method” and choose “Sure As Ship”.
Customers in that zone now see live rates at checkout.

Do I need a Sure As Ship account?

Yes. Rates and labels come from your Sure As Ship account, and shipments are billed to it. Sign up at sureasship.com.

Which carriers are supported?

Canada Post, FedEx, UPS and Purolator. Choose which ones to quote under Enabled Carriers.

Does it work with the block checkout?

Yes. Rates appear in both the Cart and Checkout blocks and the classic checkout.

Can I test without being charged?

Yes. Create a test API key (it starts with sas_test_). Rates are real, but bookings use carrier sandboxes and are never charged.

What happens if Sure As Ship can’t be reached?

If you enable the fallback, customers see the flat rate you set. You then book those orders from the order screen with “Book with Sure As Ship”. If a destination or cart cannot be shipped at all, no Sure As Ship rate is shown.

What if a product has no dimensions or weight?

The default dimensions (12x8x6 in) and weight (0.5 lb) in the settings are used. Add real dimensions to your products for accurate rates.

Can I ship orders that used flat rate or free shipping?

Yes. Open the order and click “Book with Sure As Ship” to see live rates and pick a service.

Is shipping taxed?

Each Sure As Ship shipping method in a zone has its own Tax Status setting, like any WooCommerce shipping method.

I installed an earlier version from sureasship.com. How do I switch?

Install this plugin and activate it. It switches the old copy off automatically, and your settings, orders and shipments carry over. Then delete the old copy (it is listed as “Sure As Ship for WooCommerce” with version 1.x).
