A stopwatch from ipadstopwatch.com. It works on PC and mobile devices. It adjusts to any size. Very easy to use and keeps running after you leave which makes it perfect for measuring long running tasks that span hours, even days.
How it works
The widget works by pulling in the stopwatch from the actual
ipadstopwatch.com site. This way the person can start and stop the
stopwatch and stopwatch can continue working after the leave the site
by tracking the time in the ipadstopwatch.com cookie.
More specifically it pulls in an HTML file into an iframe.
You can download and install Stopwatch using the built in WordPress plugin installer. If you download Stopwatch manually, make sure it is uploaded to “/wp-content/plugins/stopwatch/”.
Activate Stopwatch in the “Plugins” admin panel using the “Activate” link.
I can say this because I didn’t write it.
I happen to have a cousin named “Luis Perez”, but he doesn’t have a PhD & he didn’t write this plugin. So no conflict of interest that I can think of! 🙂
Seriously though, of course I was a little nervous installing a plugin that hadn’t been updated in 4 years, but even though the repository has 851 Google Maps plugins, I only see ONE stopwatch plugin! Granted it may not be the most wanted feature, but for me it’s just perfect to add a stopwatch to the class website I’ll be using starting next week. When we have timed activities, I can use the timer right from the web page I’m on without having to go anywhere else. Very handy!
