SoftFacture – Invoicing & Quotes

Description

SoftFacture is a free native invoicing plugin for WordPress. This version stores the company profile, the customer records, the products and services, the quotes, the invoices, and the dashboard overview inside WordPress.

Everything stays in your WordPress database.

No SoftFacture account required.
No external billing service required.
Billing data stays in your WordPress installation.

The plugin does not require an external API, a subscription, or telemetry.

Core features:

  • Customers
  • Products & Services
  • Quotes
  • Invoices
  • PDF documents
  • Quote Invoice
  • Optional WooCommerce integration
  • Dashboard with revenue, unpaid, overdue, and customer totals

Start by entering the company once. SoftFacture opens on the dashboard once the company is ready. Add customers and, if you want, a catalog of products and services. Create a quote or an invoice with line items, a discount, and VAT. A catalog item copies its description, price, and VAT onto the line. Later changes to the catalog do not rewrite an existing quote or invoice. A line can also be typed by hand. SoftFacture keeps the totals on the server and downloads a PDF. The catalog is not stock, and it does not connect to a shop.

A quote receives its number when it is saved. An invoice draft has no official number. Finalizing the invoice assigns FAC-YYYY-NNNN, stores a snapshot of the seller, the customer, and the totals, and locks those details. Later changes to the company or the customer do not rewrite a finalized invoice.

Quotes can be edited, duplicated, and marked as sent, accepted, or rejected. Convert quotes into draft invoices. A sent or accepted quote creates one draft invoice that you can review before finalizing. The invoice number is assigned only when that draft is finalized. Invoice drafts can be edited or deleted. A finalized invoice can be marked as sent or paid, or duplicated into a new draft.

The dashboard shows paid revenue, unpaid and overdue amounts by currency without conversion, recent invoices and quotes, and capability-aware quick actions. A new install shows a welcome empty state instead of inventing numbers.

SoftFacture works independently and can optionally integrate with WooCommerce when WooCommerce is installed. With WooCommerce active, document lines can search WooCommerce products, and a WooCommerce order can create a SoftFacture draft invoice. SoftFacture does not sync catalogs, create invoices automatically, or require API keys.

Installation

  1. Upload the softfacture-invoicing-quotes folder to /wp-content/plugins/.
  2. Activate SoftFacture through the Plugins screen.
  3. Open SoftFacture and enter the company details.
  4. Use SoftFacture Dashboard for an overview once the company is ready.
  5. Add customers from SoftFacture Customers.
  6. Add products and services from SoftFacture Products & Services.
  7. Create a quote from SoftFacture Quotes.
  8. Create an invoice from SoftFacture Invoices. Save the draft, then finalize it when the contents are ready.

Deactivating the plugin does not delete customers, products, services, quotes, invoices, or settings.

FAQ

Does SoftFacture send data to SoftFacture.com?

No. SoftFacture alone does not call SoftFacture.com and does not send company, customer, product, quote, or invoice data anywhere. Dompdf runs locally. WooCommerce, when present, stays on the same WordPress installation.

What happens when I uninstall the plugin?

Version 1 keeps your SoftFacture data. Uninstalling does not delete customers, products, services, documents, or settings.

Which currencies can be selected?

Euro, US dollar, Tunisian dinar, Canadian dollar, and pound sterling. Amounts are stored as integers. Euro, dollar, Canadian dollar, and pound use 2 decimals. The Tunisian dinar uses 3.

Where are quote and invoice PDFs stored?

They are not stored. SoftFacture builds each PDF in memory when an authorized user downloads it. A finalized invoice PDF is drawn from the snapshot saved at finalization.

Does SoftFacture require WooCommerce?

No. SoftFacture works on its own. When WooCommerce is installed and active, SoftFacture can search WooCommerce products for quote and draft invoice lines, and can create a SoftFacture draft invoice from a WooCommerce order. Product catalogs are not duplicated. No remote WooCommerce API or API keys are used.
