Description

Seaglass Tools adds a small, fixed set of fields that the Seaglass theme can show – no field builder, nothing to configure.
Values are displayed with Block Bindings (source seaglass/field), so there are no shortcodes. The theme keeps working without the plugin: empty fields simply do not show.

Currently included:

Product category and tag: description below the product list (may use H2/H3 headings).
Product category: header image and an icon for category tiles and subcategory buttons – one of the theme’s icons or an emoji (shown in the theme colour by Seaglass).
Products: digital details – author, narrator, format, length, language, file size – and a free sample link, edited in the “Digital details” tab of the product data box. Seaglass shows them in the facts box under the price (an audio sample gets a player, other samples a button).
Products: FAQ – question/answer pairs edited in the same “Digital details” tab. Seaglass shows them as expandable boxes under the product description; the plugin then adds FAQPage structured data (JSON-LD) with exactly the questions shown on the page. Turn the schema off with add_filter( 'seaglass_tools_faq_schema', '__return_false' );. Another theme can show the FAQ itself (seaglass_tools_get_faq( $product_id )) and fire do_action( 'seaglass_product_faq_rendered', $items, $product_id ) to get the schema.
Posts and pages: a lead under the title, edited in the “Seaglass” panel of the block editor.
Chat post format: paragraphs written as “Name: text” become chat bubbles.
Native audio and video players for the [audio] and [video] shortcodes (no MediaElement.js). Disable with add_filter( 'seaglass_tools_native_media', '__return_false' );.

Installation

Install the plugin from Plugins > Add New (search for “Seaglass Tools”) and activate it.
The fields appear on the product category edit screen, in the “Digital details” tab of the product data box and in the “Seaglass” panel of the block editor.
Product fields need WooCommerce. The theme Seaglass shows the fields; with another theme you can read them with seaglass_tools_get().

FAQ

Do I need the Seaglass theme?: The fields are made for Seaglass and the theme shows them automatically. With another block theme you can still show them with Block Bindings (source seaglass/field).
What happens when I deactivate the plugin?: The saved values stay in the database. Seaglass hides the places that use them, nothing breaks.
