ScoutDocs is a file sharing plugin that runs on your site, but stores your files securely in the cloud. Files are served via a global content distribution network, and email notifications are sent from the ScoutDocs service, so you know they’ll be delivered.

  • The file list. Here you can see files that you’ve uploaded or that have been assigned to you by someone else.
  • The drop zone. Either click the “+ Add” button or drag files onto ScoutDocs to get a file drop zone. Drop files here to upload them securely to the cloud.
  • File upload progress.
  • Manage viewers. Here you can add people (or groups of people) to a file. They will be able to see the file and will receive an e-mail notification that you have shared the file with them. You can also choose whether to ask users to accept or decline the file.
  • The ScoutDocs settings screen. You can enter your API key here and change settings about how the ScoutDocs plugin works.

  1. Upload the plugin files to the /wp-content/plugins/scoutdocs directory, or install the plugin through the WordPress plugins screen directly. To find ScoutDocs through your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins -> Add New, search for ScoutDocs, and click “Install Now”.
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ screen in WordPress.
  3. Use the Settings -> ScoutDocs screen to configure the plugin and enter your license key (if you already have one) or register for one (if you’re new to ScoutDocs).

You can also go to to register and your license key will be emailed to you.
