Sanestly Attribution Survey for WooCommerce

Description

Know where customers say they discovered your store.

Sanestly Attribution Survey for WooCommerce adds one simple question to your order confirmation page: “How did you hear about us?” Customers answer after checkout, and the plugin turns those answers into a clear WooCommerce attribution report.

See which channels bring orders, revenue, and higher average order values. Discover the impact of word of mouth, social media, search, marketplaces, email, events, and any other channel your customers choose.

Most marketing reports only see clicks. Your customers can tell you what actually influenced their purchase.

Turn customer answers into marketing insight

Create one question and add up to 20 answer options. For example:

  • Google search
  • Instagram
  • Facebook
  • TikTok
  • A friend or colleague
  • A marketplace
  • Email
  • An offline event
  • Other

Each customer can submit one answer per order. Their response is saved with an order revenue snapshot, so your report stays focused on the value of that specific purchase.

See revenue by customer reported channel

The built in WooCommerce attribution report shows:

  • Orders by channel
  • Revenue by channel
  • Average order value by channel
  • Share of responses
  • Share of revenue
  • Survey response rate

Use date filters for the last 7, 30, or 90 days, choose all time, or set a custom range. Export individual responses to CSV when you need to analyse the data in a spreadsheet.

Built for real WooCommerce stores

Sanestly Attribution Survey for WooCommerce works on the classic thank you page and the block based order confirmation page. You can also show the survey again on the My Account order page for signed in customers who did not answer after checkout.

The selected answer is visible on the WooCommerce order screen, so your team can see the source behind an individual purchase when needed.

Privacy conscious by design

Your survey data stays in your WordPress database. The plugin does not require a cloud account and does not send survey responses to an external service.

It supports WordPress personal data export and erasure tools. Erasing personal data anonymizes the individual response while keeping aggregated channel statistics available in the report.

Compatible with modern WooCommerce

  • Works with WooCommerce HPOS
  • Supports Checkout Blocks and the classic checkout flow
  • Stores survey data in a dedicated database table
  • Uses secure order access for guest customers
  • Includes a submission nonce, honeypot protection, and per IP rate limiting

A useful complement to UTM tracking

This is a self reported attribution survey, not a replacement for analytics or pixel tracking.

UTM data can tell you which link was clicked last. A post purchase survey can reveal what customers remember: a recommendation from a friend, a product mention on social media, an event, a marketplace, or a campaign that tracking did not capture.

FAQ

Where does the survey appear?

On the order confirmation (“thank you”) page right after checkout, including the blocks-powered confirmation template. Optionally also on the My Account order view for logged-in customers.

Can customers answer twice for the same order?

No. One response row per order is enforced at the database level.

Does it work with HPOS and Checkout Blocks?

Yes. Compatibility with custom order tables (HPOS) and cart/checkout blocks is declared. Response data lives in a dedicated table; the plugin never writes to order meta.

What exactly does “revenue” mean in the report?

The order total captured at the moment the customer answers. Later refunds or edits do not change the snapshot; use the CSV export for reconciliation if needed.

What happens to personal data?

Responses store the billing email and customer id to support privacy requests. The WordPress eraser anonymizes a person’s rows (email, customer id, free text removed) while keeping aggregated channel statistics intact.

What happens on deactivate or uninstall?

Deactivate keeps all data and settings. Uninstall preserves data by default; enable “Delete data on uninstall” in Settings only if you want the table and options removed.
