Sanctus – Saint du jour permet d’ajouter facilement le calendrier quotidien des saints à un site WordPress.
L’encart affiche le portrait, le nom, la date et un extrait biographique. Lorsqu’il y a plusieurs saints, ils apparaissent successivement dans un carrousel discret. Chaque saint renvoie vers sa biographie complète sur Sanctus.
Deux méthodes d’intégration sont proposées :
- le bloc Gutenberg « Saint(e)s du jour – Sanctus » ;
- le shortcode
[sanctus_saint_du_jour].
Le thème peut suivre automatiquement les préférences du visiteur ou être forcé en mode clair ou sombre.

External service
This plugin embeds the daily-saint widget provided by Sanctus at https://www.sanctus-sanctus.fr/widget/saint-du-jour.
The service is contacted only on pages where the site owner has added the Sanctus block or shortcode. As with any web request, the visitor’s IP address, browser user agent and referring page may be transmitted to the Sanctus server. The widget displays data and images supplied by Sanctus and contains links to the corresponding saint biographies and to the Sanctus website.

Installation
- Upload the plugin files to
/wp-content/plugins/sanctus-saint-du-jour, or install the ZIP from the WordPress Plugins screen. - Activate « Sanctus – Saint du jour ».
- Add the « Saint(e)s du jour – Sanctus » block in the editor, or use
[sanctus_saint_du_jour]. - Choose the automatic, light or dark theme and the maximum width in the block settings when needed.

Does the content update automatically?

Yes. The widget retrieves the current day’s content directly from Sanctus. No daily action is required in WordPress.

Can I use the widget with the classic editor?

Yes. Add the shortcode

Which themes are available?

auto,lightordark. The defaultautotheme follows the visitor’s system preference. -
Does the plugin store personal data in WordPress?

No. The plugin does not create user accounts, store form submissions or write visitor data to the WordPress database. The embedded Sanctus service receives standard web-request information as explained in the External service section.
