Rowerr Frontend Translation Editor for MemberPress by Rowerr.com lets site administrators create their own languages and translate MemberPress frontend strings manually.
All functionality included in this plugin is free, with no license key, trial, usage quota, or paid unlock. You can create a custom language with any name, including the name of a language offered as a separate ready-made pack, and enter its translations yourself.
- English (Default) is the read-only source language.
- Create empty custom languages in Settings and select one active frontend language.
- Edit translations alongside English originals in Registration Form, Login Form, Forgot Password, Account Page, and Other Strings.
- Save wording automatically after typing stops, with a green Saved checkmark, error feedback, and Retry.
- Enable or disable individual translations and search or paginate the catalog.
- Open each custom language directly from Settings or delete it after confirmation.
- Translate supported MemberPress gettext strings, the default account-page title, and optional additional form labels.
- Preserve formatting placeholders when editing translations.
Ready-made language packs are available in the separate commercial MemberPress Frontend Translator product. This free editor contains no ready-made dictionaries, dictionary loaders, licensing, payment-language mapping, paid updater, or premium implementation. Its language selectors contain only English and your custom languages, with Add Custom Language available in Settings. Every custom language remains fully editable for free.

The English source catalog is derived from MemberPress 1.14.1, Copyright (C) 2026 Caseproof, LLC, GPL-2.0-or-later. The translator/editor implementation is derived from Rowerr’s MemberPress Frontend Translator 0.3.1. GPLv2 license text is included in license.txt.
Installation
With Frontend Translator for WordPress 0.3.6 or newer active, this editor’s pages appear as Free Editor Settings and Free Editor Translations under the shared MemberPress Frontend Translation Editor menu. Its data stays separate and editable; the paid translator controls frontend output while active. Deactivating the paid plugin restores this editor’s standalone menu and frontend output. No saved translations are merged or deleted.
- Install this ZIP through Plugins > Add Plugin > Upload Plugin, then activate it.
- Open Rowerr Frontend Translation Editor for MemberPress > Settings.
- Select Add Custom Language, enter a language name, and click Add Language. The language is created and selected; the translation switches retain their current values.
- Enable translations and save Settings when you are ready to apply your translations.
- Use Edit Translations in the Custom Languages table. Enter translations beside the English source and wait for Saved before navigating away.
Upgrading from 1.0.0 through 1.0.6: back up your translations. If Pro is active, deactivate Pro first, then deactivate the old free editor. Install and activate this renamed free editor, then install and activate Pro 0.3.6 or newer. Existing rfte_* settings and translations are reused without migration. Do not use the WordPress Delete button on the old free plugin: its uninstaller removes shared translation data. After verification, remove only the inactive old folder using a file manager, without running its uninstaller. The new folder and text domain are rowerr-frontend-translation-editor-for-memberpress. Do not activate old and new free copies together.
This is a separate plugin, not an update or replacement ZIP for MemberPress Frontend Translator 0.3.1. It uses its own storage and does not import, change, or delete that plugin’s data. If both plugins are active, this editor pauses its frontend engine to prevent conflicting translations. Deactivate the other translator to use this editor’s frontend output; its Settings and Translation Editor remain accessible.
The Save Translations button remains available when JavaScript is unavailable. Delete opens a confirmation page and removes only the selected custom language and its translations. Deleting the active language selects English while preserving the enable/disable switches.

Can I translate into any language without buying a pack?

Yes. Add a custom language with that name and enter its translations manually. Pro refers only to ready-made packs in the separate commercial product. This free plugin never downloads or unlocks those packs.

Does it translate the whole website or provide a language switcher?

No. It applies one selected language to supported MemberPress frontend output. It does not translate arbitrary site content, navigation, product names, or third-party plugin text, and it does not provide a visitor language switcher.

Are all MemberPress strings included?

The English source catalog is derived from MemberPress Developer 1.14.1, with source references retained. Actual coverage depends on MemberPress version, templates, and add-ons. Custom dictionaries start empty; missing or disabled entries use English while translation is enabled. Disabling translation leaves normal WordPress and MemberPress language behavior unchanged.
Strings shared across categories use the same translation when their source, context, and domain match. Plural handling currently uses singular for 1 and plural otherwise; additional locale-specific plural forms are not supported. Only the default Account heading on the configured MemberPress account page is translated; custom titles and database page titles are unchanged.

Can I edit Stripe card fields or Google Pay through this editor?

No. Secure payment fields and payment-provider brand names are controlled by their provider. This plugin does not change their language, read card details, or modify payments. Dates follow WordPress’s locale and date settings.

Can I customize English wording?

Yes. Add a custom language such as Custom English. English (Default) itself remains read-only.

Is any data sent to Rowerr or a translation service?

No. The plugin makes no external requests, collects no telemetry, and loads its assets locally. Settings and translations are stored in WordPress options. MemberPress and payment providers have their own separate data practices.

What happens on deactivation or deletion?

Deactivation retains this editor’s data. Deleting this plugin through WordPress removes only its own custom languages, translations, and settings, including across multisite. Other translators’ data is left untouched. Back up your manual translations before deleting.
