Rentquiry

Description

Rentquiry is the free catalogue and enquiry edition provided by RentalPlugin (rentalplugin.com).

Show unlimited rental items with photographs, descriptions and indicative hourly, two-hour and daily prices. Customers request dates and quantities. Requests are enquiries only: they do not confirm availability, reserve stock or collect payments.

  • Responsive catalogue and enquiry form.
  • Enquiry inbox with New, Contacted and Closed statuses.
  • Customer acknowledgement and owner notification using WordPress email.
  • Local interface packs for 19 languages, including Arabic right-to-left support.
  • WordPress personal data export and erasure integration.
  • No required account, licence key, tracking or remote service.

BASE and GROW are separate commercial editions. BASE offers confirmed bookings, availability, online payments, front desk and customer documents. GROW adds partner tools. The free plugin contains no paid-feature implementation. Compare editions at https://rentalplugin.com/pricing/ .

About the developer

Rentquiry is developed by RentalPlugin, the technology behind Rentalee.

Privacy

Enquiries contain name, email, optional phone/notes, requested item/quantity and dates. They are stored in your WordPress database and sent by email to the configured business address; an acknowledgement is emailed to the customer. Review your privacy policy and email configuration. No data is sent to RentalPlugin. Short-lived abuse counters use a keyed hash of the request IP and expire after one hour. WordPress personal data export and erasure tools handle stored enquiry data; they cannot erase email copies.
Photos selected from your own media library are served by your website. If you enter an external photo URL, visitors’ browsers request that image from that host.
Data is retained on deactivation/uninstall to avoid losing business enquiries. Use WordPress privacy tools to remove personal enquiry data when appropriate.

Installation

  1. Install and activate the plugin.
  2. Open RentalPlugin > Settings and enter your business name and notification email.
  3. Add items under Products. Choose photos from the WordPress media library.
  4. Put [rentalplugin] on a page and publish it.
  5. Send a test enquiry and verify WordPress email delivery.

Use only one RentalPlugin edition at a time. If migrating from the rentalplugin.com ZIP, deactivate that edition before activating this directory edition. Back up before replacing an edition. Version 2 retains the existing shared product table and does not delete earlier booking records. New enquiries use a separate table and never become reservations automatically. Old booking calendars/front desk require the previous or paid edition to view. Stock quantities and older rate tiers are preserved when editing catalogue items. New catalogue items have stock 1 until configured in a paid edition.

FAQ

Do I need an account or licence?

No.

Is there a time or item limit?

No. This catalogue and enquiry workflow remains free without an expiry or item quota.

Can I take online payments?

Payments, confirmed bookings and availability management are supplied in separate paid editions.
