Useful plugin, even though it’s very old!

This was the only plugin I could find to delete inactive widgets from my inactive sidebars. I had 100’s of widgets to delete and didn’t want to do it manually!

I was concerned that this plugin hasn’t been updated for over 5 years, but backed up my multisite first and installed it. It worked beautifully – it adds a simple button underneath the inactive widgets on the Appearance > Widgets page. When I clicked this, it immediately removed the inactive widgets. This saved me a LOT of time.

Admittedly, it did miss some of the widgets on some of the sites in the multisite and I had to delete them manually. However, it got rid of the vast majority of widgets in a single click, so was definitely worth using.

My active widgets were unaffected and it didn’t remove anything it shouldn’t, which was a relief.
