Description
You built something people read. Now let businesses pay you to reach them.
Pyrobid gives your site its own advertise page, in your name and your colours. A business signs up there, picks a slot on your site or a send in your newsletter, pays and uploads its ad. You approve it and it runs. The money goes to you, and Pyrobid takes no commission.
This plugin puts your Pyrobid ad slots on your WordPress site and links to your advertise page. Pyrobid is a paid service: 14 days free, then from $29.99 a month.
See yours first, free. Activate the plugin and press See your advertise page. Pyrobid shows you the page your site would get, with your site’s name and colour, before you sign up for anything. Or try the live demo as an advertiser.
Pyrobid runs on the ad platform that ran the advertising for Bitcoin.com for five years, with over a billion impressions served.
Why Pyrobid
- No commission. Advertisers pay you by card, through your own Stripe account, or by voucher for money you take your own way, such as a bank transfer. Pyrobid never touches it.
- No traffic minimum, no network to approve you. Your advertise page works from the day you install, whatever your traffic.
- Advertisers serve themselves. They sign up, add funds, book and upload their ad, then track impressions, clicks and spend in their own dashboard. No media kit, no email thread, no invoice to chase.
- Sell your newsletter too. Each send can carry one sponsor at your price. Advertisers book sends on the same advertise page, and it works with any email tool, from Mailchimp to beehiiv.
- You stay in control. Approve every ad, or switch on auto-approve. Set a floor price on every slot and a price on every send.
- Empty slots sell themselves. A slot nobody has booked shows your Advertise Here card, linking to your advertise page. Already run AdSense? It keeps filling the views nobody has booked.
- Live reports. Views, clicks and spend by day, country, device and browser, for you and for each advertiser.
- Your brand, not ours. Your portal and advertise page carry your name, logo and colours, at yoursite.pyrobid.com, or on your own domain with Pro.
In WordPress
- Ad slots, anywhere. Paste the code your portal gives you for a slot and it becomes a slot on this site. Put it on a page with the Pyrobid ad slot block, the
[pyrobid zone="..."]shortcode or the Pyrobid ad slot widget. - Or let it place them. Top of each post, end of each post, or after a paragraph of your choice. Sticky and interstitial slots go on every page and place themselves on the screen.
- A link to your advertise page. The Pyrobid advertise link block and the
[pyrobid_advertise]shortcode, for your menu, footer or any post. - Light. Your portal’s ad script loads asynchronously, only on pages that show a slot, and only after you switch serving on.
- Your numbers stay in your portal. The dashboard box takes you there: advertisers, ad approval, reports.
Formats
On your site, the slots your portal offers: static banner, sticky banner, interstitial, static native, native exit and native interstitial, in the sizes you choose when you make them. In your newsletter, a sponsor’s image and link in each send, set up in your Pyrobid portal with nothing to install in WordPress.
Who it is for
Bloggers, niche and hobby sites, local news, forums, directories and newsletter writers: anyone whose readers a business would pay to reach, and who wants to make money from advertising without an ad network in the middle.
Price
The plugin is free. Pyrobid is a paid service: 14 days free, then $29.99 a month (Starter), or $99.99 a month on your own domain (Pro). The trial takes a card at signup and charges nothing for 14 days. Cancel any time from your account page. Start at pyrobid.com.
External services
This plugin connects your site to your own Pyrobid ad portal, a service run by Pyrobid, LLC.
- What loads, and when: your portal’s ad script, from the portal address you enter in Settings, Pyrobid (for example
yoursite.pyrobid.com, or your own domain on Pro), on pages that show one of your ad slots. Nothing loads until you tick “Serve my ad slots from my portal”. - What is sent: when a page with a slot loads, the visitor’s browser asks your portal for the script and for the slot’s ads. Your portal receives the visitor’s IP address, browser user agent, the page address and the slot, to choose, show and count ads, and records views and clicks.
- The “See your advertise page” button: when you press it, your browser opens
pyrobid.com/start/with your site’s address, its title and a colour from your theme in the link, so the page can show your site’s advertise page. Nothing is sent unless you press it. - What is not sent: the plugin makes no requests from your WordPress admin, and keeps its settings only in your own database.
Pyrobid’s terms and privacy policy. The plugin adds suggested text for your own privacy policy under Settings, Privacy.

FAQ
-
Can I see it before I sign up?
-
Yes. After you activate the plugin, See your advertise page (on your dashboard and in Settings, Pyrobid) opens pyrobid.com with a preview of the advertise page your site would get, made from your site’s title, address and theme colour. Nothing is set up until you start a trial. You can also try the live demo, where the login details are on the sign-in page.
-
My site is new. Is it worth it?
-
Your advertise page and slots work from day one: there is no traffic minimum and no network to approve you. Businesses book when your readers are worth reaching to them, so start with the ones that already know you, such as a local shop, a tool you write about or a fellow creator. Meanwhile the ad code you already run can keep filling your slots. Pyrobid does not supply advertisers or promise what you will earn.
-
Is Pyrobid an AdSense alternative?
-
You can use both. AdSense sells your space for you, to Google’s advertisers, at prices you do not set. Pyrobid lets businesses book it directly, at your price, with the money going to you. Put the ad code you run today in a slot’s fallback in your portal and it fills every view nobody has booked, with one unsold view in ten showing your Advertise Here card unless you switch the card off. Turned down by AdSense? Our guide to the alternatives for small sites lists what each one asks for.
-
Yes, from your Pyrobid portal. Set your sends, days and price per send, then paste a snippet into your email: once into your template for Mailchimp, Kit, Brevo, beehiiv, Klaviyo or ActiveCampaign, or into each issue with any other tool. Advertisers book sends on the same advertise page as your site’s slots, and you approve each booking. A send nobody has booked shows your own advertise card. How newsletter sponsorships work.
-
What do my advertisers see?
-
Their own account on your advertise page: a dashboard with impressions, clicks, spend and conversions, their campaigns and newsletter bookings, and a balance they top up. Try it in the live demo.
-
Do I need a Pyrobid account?
-
Yes. The slots come from your own Pyrobid portal, and the plugin shows nothing without one. Pyrobid is 14 days free, then $29.99 a month (Starter) or $99.99 a month (Pro, on your own domain). The trial takes a card at signup, and you can cancel any time.
-
Where do advertisers come from?
-
From your site and your field: the link to your advertise page in your menu or footer, the Advertise Here card in slots nobody has booked, and the businesses you already know, who now have somewhere to book. They are your advertisers, with accounts on your platform, and they come back to you when they want to run again. Pyrobid is software you run yourself: it does not supply advertisers, guarantee sales or promise what you will earn.
-
Do I need Stripe?
-
No. Every portal can take payment by voucher: you take the money your own way, such as a bank transfer or an invoice, then issue a code for that amount, and the advertiser’s credit is ready to spend on your slots. Connect Stripe when you want card payments; you are the merchant and the money is yours.
-
Will it slow my site down?
-
The ad script loads asynchronously, and only on pages that show a slot, so your content does not wait for it.
-
Why is my slot empty?
-
Check that “Serve my ad slots from my portal” is ticked and saved, and that the page shows the slot (each slot is drawn once per page). A slot with no booked ad and no fallback set in your portal shows nothing, which is correct. Caching plugins may need their cache cleared after a change.
-
Can I use the same slot in two places?
-
Each slot is drawn once per page, where it first comes up: the same slot twice would show the same ad twice, and your reports could not tell the two apart. Make a second slot in your portal for a second place.
-
Does it work with the block editor, classic themes and page builders?
-
Yes: the block for the block editor, the widget for widget areas, and the shortcode anywhere shortcodes run.
-
Is my data sent anywhere?
-
See External services above. The plugin itself sends nothing from your admin.
