External services
This plugin does not connect to any third-party service. It makes no remote API calls, loads no remote images, scripts, styles or fonts, and sends no data anywhere. All assets are bundled locally and all picks are stored in your own WordPress database.
Payment processing, live-odds and fixtures integrations are not part of this free plugin — they belong to the separate PICK VIZ Pro companion plugin, which documents its own service usage on its product page.
Plugin updates are delivered exclusively through WordPress.org’s own update system — the plugin does not check any other server for updates.

Installation
Automatic (recommended)
- In your WordPress admin go to Plugins Add New.
- Search for PICK VIZ.
- Click Install Now, then Activate.
Manual upload
- Download the plugin ZIP.
- Go to Plugins Add New Upload Plugin and choose the ZIP.
- Click Install Now, then Activate.
Manual via FTP
- Unzip the plugin and upload the
pickviz-sports-picks-tipster-handicapper-platformfolder to/wp-content/plugins/. - Activate it from the Plugins screen.
First-time setup (about 2 minutes)
- On activation you’ll land on the Setup Wizard — click through it to create your Picks, ROI, Capper Dashboard and Game pages automatically.
- Go to PICK VIZ Add Pick and post your first pick. Home team, away team and sport are the only required fields.
- When the game finishes, open PICK VIZ All Picks and grade it win / loss / push / void. Your ROI updates immediately.
- Style it under PICK VIZ Appearance — pick a theme, set your accent colour and font.

Letting someone else post picks
Create a WordPress user for them and give them the Capper role (or the predictions_post_picks capability). They can then post and grade from the front-end dashboard — and will only ever see their own picks — without any access to WP-admin.

Is this really free? Is anything locked?

It’s genuinely free. Every feature described above works with no limits, no trial period and no locked buttons. PICK VIZ Pro is a separate plugin that adds selling and automation features — it does not unlock anything here.

Do I need an account or API key?
-
No. The plugin works entirely on your own site with no account, no API key and no external service.

How are picks graded?
-
Manually, in one click, from All Picks in the admin or from the front-end capper dashboard. (Automatic grading from live scores is a Pro feature.)

How is ROI calculated?
-
From your graded picks, using the units staked and the odds. A win pays out at the price you posted, a loss costs the units risked, and pushes and voids are excluded. ROI is net units divided by units risked.

Can I use decimal or fractional odds?

Yes. Choose American, Decimal or Fractional in the settings and enter odds in that format. They’re stored consistently, so switching format later won’t corrupt your existing picks.

Can other people post picks without admin access?

Yes — that’s what the front-end capper dashboard is for. Give a user the Capper role and they can post, edit and grade their own picks from your site’s front end.

Can I hide picks from non-members?

Yes. Set a pick to Locked and visitors see your paywall message instead of the selection. Taking payment for access is a Pro feature.

Where do team logos come from?
-
You add them yourself — paste an image URL or pick an image from your WordPress Media Library. The plugin doesn’t load images from any third-party server.

Is it privacy friendly?

Yes. The plugin doesn’t collect or process personal data from your visitors. Picks are authored by your own administrators or cappers and stored in your database. A ready-made privacy-policy snippet is added under Settings Privacy.

Will it slow my site down?

No. There are no external requests, no bundled charting libraries, and stylesheets and scripts load only where they’re needed. The ROI charts are drawn with plain CSS and inline SVG.

What happens to my picks if I uninstall?

Nothing is deleted unless you opt in. Under Settings General there’s a “Remove all data on uninstall” option, which is off by default.

- Database hardening: every query now passes its filters as bound placeholders instead of assembling a WHERE clause string, so no variable is interpolated into any SQL statement. This covers the picks list, counts, ROI/stats, per-sport and per-month breakdowns, bankroll series, trend comparison, daily record, the capper picks table, and the uninstall cleanup.
- Sorting no longer interpolates a column name: the sort key is bound as a value and matched inside the ORDER BY, and an unrecognised key safely falls back to the default order.
- Verified with Plugin Check on a clean install (0 errors) plus a functional test suite covering all filter combinations, sort orders, per-user scoping, and ownership enforcement.
- Bug fix: saving a pick without an explicit confidence or visibility value could fail with a database error (the default was validated but not applied). Both now fall back correctly to Medium / Everyone.
- Bug fix: result grading now uses a strict whitelist comparison, and the Add Pick category list no longer emits a PHP warning when no categories exist yet. Tested end-to-end with WP_DEBUG enabled — no notices, warnings, or deprecations.

- Removed all remotely-hosted team-logo image URLs (previously auto-filled from a third-party CDN). Team logos are now added by pasting a URL or choosing an image from your own WordPress Media Library — the plugin no longer references or loads any remote images.
- Made the CSRF nonce check explicit in every Capper Dashboard AJAX handler (check_ajax_referer as the first statement), alongside the existing capability and per-pick ownership checks.
- The admin “All Picks” list filters now carry and verify their own nonce, and all filter reading/sanitizing happens in the controller so the template no longer touches request input directly.

- Verified against the official Plugin Check tool on a clean WordPress install — resolved all reported errors: completed output escaping, added translators comments and ordered placeholders for i18n, switched date() to gmdate() and parse_url() to wp_parse_url(), set explicit script versions, and prepared all remaining table-name identifiers.
