This plugin hasn’t been tested with the latest 3 major releases of WordPress. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.



This plugin allows you to import the XMP, EXIF, and IPTC for uploaded images, store that meta-data in specialized image taxonomies, and then display galleries based on taxonomy terms. It is also possible to display a random gallery of images.

Features include:

  • Create galleries based on image taxonomy terms
  • Create a random gallery of images based on a taxonomy. Just add query=”random” to the core gallery shortcode.

What happened to the pre 1.0.0 vesion of the plugin?

Version 1.0.0 is a complete rewrite and re-imagining of this plugin. Pre 1.0.0 versions of this plugin contained proprietary features that are now part now part of WordPress Core or no longer compatible with the latest versions of WordPress.

... except adding its own admin menu page for downloading the other components! If there is one or several of the other extension(s) needed to get the image meta data, then this should be clearly pointed out.
