Description

Plugin homepage, documentation and paid plans: https://pewitlabs.com/product-ai-etch-style-kit.html

Pewit Style Kit for Etch styles third-party templates (WooCommerce my-account, checkout, order pages, forms) so they can match a site designed in Etch.

This plugin is an independent product by PEWIT Labs. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official product of EtchWP.

Fully functional and free

Every feature in this plugin is free and fully functional: layout shell, section headers, notices, the design-token preset library, the full shortcode kit (account header, account navigation, order summary, checkout trust row), the WooCommerce account/checkout skin and token JSON import. Nothing is locked behind a license.

Shortcodes work on any WordPress site. Etch is optional (for importing exported CSS variables).

External services

This plugin connects to one external service. Please review this before use.

Freemius (licensing & updates — https://freemius.com):
* What and when: Freemius is used for plugin license activation, update delivery and, only if you opt in, anonymous usage diagnostics. If you choose to subscribe to a paid plan, Freemius acts as Merchant of Record for checkout. Opt-in is optional and the plugin is fully functional without it.
* Data sent: when you opt in, your site URL, WordPress/PHP environment details and admin email may be sent to Freemius to manage the license and updates.
* Terms: https://freemius.com/terms/ — Privacy: https://freemius.com/privacy/

This plugin does not send any data to AI providers; it only generates CSS, design tokens and shortcode markup locally on your site.

Source code

All JavaScript and CSS shipped in this plugin (in assets/js and assets/css) is the original, hand-written, human-readable source. Nothing is minified, compiled, transpiled or generated by a build tool, so no separate source files are required — what you read in the plugin is the source. The only bundled third-party library is the Freemius SDK (vendor/freemius), whose source is available at https://github.com/Freemius/wordpress-sdk

Installation

  1. Upload the plugin ZIP through Plugins -> Add New -> Upload Plugin, or extract it to wp-content/plugins/pewit-style-kit-for-etch/.
  2. Activate the plugin.
  3. Pick a token preset under Design tokens.
  4. Copy shortcodes from the Kit library onto your My Account page.
  5. Enable the WooCommerce skin in Settings if you use WooCommerce.

The plugin folder must always be pewit-style-kit-for-etch/ and the main file pewit-style-kit-for-etch.php.

Changelog

1.0.5

  • Fixed: Freemius WordPress SDK updated to 2.13.4.
  • Fixed: imported design-token names and values are sanitized before storage in custom_tokens.

1.0.4

  • Changed: display name and slug to Pewit Style Kit for Etch (unofficial companion; not affiliated with EtchWP).
  • Changed: Tested up to WordPress 7.1.
  • Fixed: hide third-party admin notices on PEWIT admin screens.

  • Fixed: wordpress.org package is the free build only (no license gating, is_premium false, no bundled .po/.mo).

1.0.3

  • Changed: the wordpress.org build now physically contains no license/plan feature gating — every feature (WooCommerce skin, kit shortcodes, token import) runs unconditionally. Plan gating lives only in the separate Freemius premium build.
  • Fixed: readme “Tested up to” set to WordPress 7.0; free package ships empty languages/ for Domain Path (translations via translate.wordpress.org).
  • Fixed: Etch version detection no longer uses hardcoded WP_PLUGIN_DIR folder paths.

1.0.2

  • Changed: renamed to “Pewit AI Etch Style Kit” (new slug pewit-ai-etch-style-kit) for a distinctive directory name.
  • Changed: every feature is now free and fully functional — no license gating of built-in features (WooCommerce skin, Pro kit blocks and Etch/ACSS token import are all free).
  • Added: External services documentation for Freemius, including terms/privacy links.
  • Fixed: removed Google Fonts (no external font requests); admin uses a system font stack.

1.0.1

  • Fixed: WordPress Plugin Check — i18n translators comments, removed manual textdomain loading.

1.0.0

  • First stable release: shortcode kit, design tokens, WooCommerce skin, Etch token import.
