Connect your own OpenRouter API key under Content AI. Then you can:

• Write a full SEO-optimized blog post from a topic or brief — structured with H2/H3, intro, body, and conclusion aligned with common Google content quality expectations (helpful, original, clear structure). Nothing is published until you review and save.

AI never overwrites your content automatically. You always review and apply suggestions yourself. The API key stays on the server and is never exposed in page source or JavaScript.

Privacy & performance

• No tracking or telemetry by default
• Content is sent to OpenRouter only when you click an AI action
• Admin assets load only on relevant screens
• No heavy scans on every frontend page load

External services

OptiRank can optionally connect to third-party services. Nothing is sent until you enable the feature and (where required) provide credentials. All services are optional and off until you turn them on.

OpenRouter (AI Content Writer)

• Used for: generating SEO titles, meta descriptions, keyphrases, FAQs, and full blog drafts when you click an AI action in the editor.
• Data sent: the text or topic you submit for that action (for example a post title, excerpt, or brief). Sent only when an administrator or editor triggers an AI button.
• When: only on explicit user action in wp-admin. Never on page load for site visitors.

IndexNow (Bing / Yandex instant indexing)

• Used for: notifying search engines when you publish or update content, so URLs can be crawled sooner.
• Data sent: the public URL of the published/updated post or page, your site host, and an IndexNow API key stored in your WordPress options.
• When: only if you enable “Instant Indexing (IndexNow)” under Tools (disabled by default). Then on publish/update of supported post types.

Google Search Console & Google Analytics (optional OAuth)

• Used for: connecting your own Google account to view Search Console or Analytics data inside OptiRank (read-only scopes).
• Data sent: OAuth authorization code/tokens to Google; API requests use your tokens to read property data you select. No password is stored by the plugin.
• When: only after you explicitly start the Connect flow and approve access in Google.

Broken link checker

• Used for: checking HTTP status of links found in your content when you run a scan from Tools.
• Data sent: HTTP HEAD/GET requests from your server to the linked URLs (third-party sites you already linked to).
• When: only when an administrator runs a broken-link scan (batch). Not on every frontend page view.

OptiRank does not phone home to the plugin author’s servers. There is no telemetry or analytics of your admin usage.

Privacy

OptiRank does not collect analytics or personal data by default and does not track wp-admin usage.

Optional features that contact external services (OpenRouter, IndexNow, Google OAuth, broken-link checks) are documented under “External services”. IndexNow and AI are disabled until you enable them. Content is never sent to third parties on public page views for visitors.
