This plugin displays vehicle information and images retrieved from the Autotelex / Hexon API.
The vehicle images shown in the grid and on the single vehicle pages are loaded and served directly from Autotelex’s external servers.
This plugin does not send any personal visitor data from your website to Autotelex.

Installation

Step 1: Install & Activate 1. Upload the occasion-engine-for-autotelex folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory, or upload the ZIP file directly via the Plugins > Add New menu in your WordPress dashboard. 2. Activate the plugin.

Step 2: Connect Autotelex (API Setup) 1. Ensure your website has a valid SSL certificate (HTTPS is strictly required to create Application Passwords in WordPress). 2. In your WordPress dashboard, go to Users > Profile and scroll down to the Application Passwords section. 3. Create a new password (e.g., “Autotelex”) and copy the generated password. Note: The user must have the Administrator or Editor role. 4. Go to the new menu item Occasions > API & Settings and copy your Webhook URL from the system tab. 5. Log in to your external management portal at https://eigenwebsite.dv.nl/ (where your vehicles are managed). Enter your Webhook URL, your WordPress username, and paste the Application Password.

Step 3: Create & Place Layouts 1. Navigate to Occasions > API & Settings > Layouts & Views. 2. Create your preferred layouts (Grid, List, or Compact List) and configure columns, filters, and items per page. 3. Copy the generated shortcode (e.g., [marcelkraan_occasion_overzicht id="default"]) and paste it on any page or post to display your inventory. 4. Want an auto-scrolling vehicle carousel? Use the beautifully integrated [marcelkraan_occasion_carousel limit="15"] shortcode.

Step 4: Styling & Customization (Optional) 1. Go to the Design & Colors tab to match the plugin’s background, text, and button colors to your brand, and select your preferred Gallery Style (Masonry or Classic). 2. Fill in your details in the Contact Options tab. To enable smart form autofill, ensure your active contact form contains fields specifically labeled “Auto”, “Onderwerp”, or “Kenteken”.

FAQ

Do I need a specific theme?: No. The plugin is built to function independently of any theme and loads its own robust flexbox and CSS grid stylesheets. It also includes specific smart autofill features for popular themes like Enfold.
How secure is the import feed?: Extremely secure. The API endpoint only accepts requests containing a valid Application Password from a user with Editor capabilities or higher over a forced HTTPS connection. Additionally, all frontend output is strictly sanitized against XSS vulnerabilities.
Will the gallery conflict with my theme’s lightbox?: No. As of version 2.9.45, the plugin utilizes an isolated Vanilla JavaScript lightbox that works independently of jQuery, preventing any conflicts with your theme’s native scripts.
