Description
When someone calls or walks into your salon asking for a specific service plus Extras, finding a truly available appointment can be difficult. A nominally empty gap may be too short, or a provider, location or shared resource may be unavailable.
o_OKak Slot Finder is a free, read-only front-desk tool for WordPress sites using Amelia. It calculates possible appointment start times from the current Amelia schedules and bookings. The operator can search by category, service, selected Extras, employee, location and date range, and then create the actual booking in Amelia.
There is no subscription, license key, trial timer, remote activation, required o_OKak account or paid feature unlock.
Features
- Search visible Amelia services assigned to at least one employee.
- Include service duration, before/after buffers and selected Amelia Extras.
- Respect per-Extra maximum quantities, mandatory-Extra rules and Amelia-compatible duration handling.
- Optionally count the duration of every unit of a selected Extra in the current search.
- Filter by employee and visible location, with available options shown for each opening.
- Check provider working hours, breaks, days off, special days and existing booking conflicts.
- Account for supported Amelia Resources capacity and applicable Block Time and Events.
- Search a range of up to 31 days and show the nearest later opening when the selected range is empty.
- Show compact grouped time ranges or exact available start times.
- Keep Amelia as the final authority for making and managing bookings. Slot Finder does not create, reserve or edit appointments.
Important limitations
Slot Finder deliberately withholds openings when it cannot safely reproduce a source constraint. In particular, busy events from connected Google, Outlook or Apple calendars are not yet used as authoritative availability inputs; affected unsupported contexts may show no available times. This protects against incorrectly promising an unavailable slot.
The plugin does not replace Amelia, create appointments, take payments, or synchronize calendars. It is designed for authorized reception staff, managers and WordPress administrators, not public customer self-booking.
Amelia dependency
An active Amelia plugin is required. The WordPress dependency slug is ameliabooking. Amelia is a third-party plugin; o_OKak is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Amelia or its publisher.
Privacy and external services
Slot Finder reads services, staff assignments, schedules, Resources, existing bookings and configuration from the site’s own Amelia tables to calculate availability. It does not write to Amelia tables.
This free release does not automatically send booking data, customer data, telemetry or license checks to o_OKak or any third-party service. It requires no registration, consent to tracking, or connection to the paid o_OKak CRM. Documentation links are opened only when an administrator chooses them.
The site owner remains responsible for protecting their WordPress and Amelia information and complying with applicable privacy obligations.
Documentation and support
WordPress.org support is available through the plugin’s public support forum after listing approval.

FAQ
-
Is Slot Finder really free?
-
Yes. Version 1.1.0 has no license checks, subscription, trial, registration or usage quotas. All functionality included in the WordPress.org release is available without an o_OKak account.
-
Is Amelia required?
-
Yes. Amelia provides the service, staff, booking and schedule facts used by the availability engine. Slot Finder does not include Amelia itself.
-
Can my customers book an appointment with Slot Finder?
-
No. Slot Finder is a back-office tool. Staff use the results to create the appointment in Amelia.
-
Does the plugin edit Amelia appointments or configuration?
-
No. It reads Amelia data to calculate openings but does not create, change, reserve or delete appointments and does not modify Amelia core files.
-
Why are some times missing?
-
Slot Finder checks that the whole service interval, buffers, Extras and supported resource constraints fit. When a calendar or resource rule cannot be verified safely, it may withhold times instead of showing an unreliable opening. See the limitation on external Google, Outlook and Apple busy calendars.
-
What happens if the selected dates contain no openings?
-
When a selected range is empty, Slot Finder searches forward within Amelia’s configured backend booking horizon and shows the nearest later opening it can verify.
-
Can operators search for a specific employee or location?
-
Yes, if the employee or location is available and relevant to the selected service in Amelia.
-
Does this install or require the paid o_OKak CRM?
-
No. Free Slot Finder runs locally in WordPress. The o_OKak CRM is a separate optional product and is not required.
