Description
MOLU Equipment Booking Lite turns the products you already have in WooCommerce into rental products with a date picker, a request form and a complete back office for handling the bookings. It was built for companies that rent out machines, lifts and other equipment, where each booking is confirmed manually and the customer receives an offer.
Free version – what you get
- Booking calendar and request form on the product page (shortcodes are available for use elsewhere). The “Add to cart” button is replaced by the booking form on rental products.
- Several machines on one request, through a booking cart on your website.
- Booking overview in the admin area with the statuses Pending, Offer, Confirmed, Declined and Cancelled.
- Add bookings by hand (phone and e-mail orders), with search among your WooCommerce customers.
- Prices per day and per week, minimum rental days, a “billing week” (for example 5 or 6 paid days per week), weekend rentals, VAT and an insurance line.
- E-mails to you and to the customer when a request is received, confirmed, declined or when you send an offer. All texts can be edited under Settings.
- Printable rental agreement for confirmed bookings (print or save as PDF).
- A built-in user guide.
- No limit on the number of rental products or bookings.
What the Pro version adds
The Pro version (sold separately at shop.molu.no) is what turns the booking list into a full rental back office. It adds: hand-over and return registration with photos, ID document photo and signature; invoices (print or PDF) and WooCommerce order creation; promo codes and discounts on single bookings; booking staff users with a restricted role; the booking calendar overview in the admin area; reports; customer agreements and discounts (company and private customer registers); a customer portal (“My bookings”); the mobile web app for hand-over and return; flagging of bad payers; and automatic updates and support. Pro installs and updates through its own license and is a separate plugin; your bookings and settings carry over.
Requirements
WooCommerce must be installed and active. The plugin has been built and is used in production on a Norwegian equipment rental website. The interface is in English. Translations (for example Norwegian) are delivered through translate.wordpress.org.

Installation
- Install and activate WooCommerce.
- Upload the plugin to
/wp-content/plugins/molu-equipment-booking-liteor install it from the Plugins screen, then activate it. - Edit a WooCommerce product, open the “Rental” tab, tick “Rental product”, enter a daily price (optionally a weekly price and a minimum number of days) and save.
- The calendar and request form now appear on the product page. Fill in your company details, the notification e-mail address, VAT and insurance under Equipment Booking Settings.

Does it work without WooCommerce?

No. Equipment Booking is built on WooCommerce products and customers, and requires WooCommerce.

Can I run Lite and Pro at the same time?

No. They use the same data but are separate plugins, and only one of them can be active. If both are active, one of them shows a notice and does not load. Deactivate Lite before activating Pro; your bookings and settings are kept.

Does the plugin contact any external service?

No. Equipment Booking Lite makes no requests to external servers and does not track users. The only link to the outside is a normal hyperlink to the Pro version.

Which languages are supported?

The plugin is written in English and is fully translatable. Translations, including Norwegian (Bokmål), are contributed on translate.wordpress.org and installed automatically by WordPress when available for your site language.
