AI-powered search in the Pro version
This free plugin does not include AI. A separate Pro version adds AI-powered search, so shoppers can type in plain language, such as “red running shoes under $80”. You use your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Google Gemini key. The Pro version also adds search analytics, synonyms and pinned products, ranking rules, more styling options and language-aware results. Everything in this free plugin works on its own, and nothing in it is locked or time-limited.

Installation
- Install and activate the plugin. WooCommerce must be active.
- The search index builds automatically in the background. You can check it under WooCommerce Mhr Product Search Index.
- Add the search box with the shortcode
[smartfind_search], the “Mhr Product Search” block, or the widget under Appearance Widgets. Or leave “Replace product search form” turned on.

Does it slow down my store?

It is built not to. Typing is answered from a local index table, and requests are delayed and cached.

Does it send any data to other websites?

No. All searching happens on your own site. This free plugin does not use external services and does not set cookies.

Is there AI search?

AI-powered search is part of the separate Pro version, not this free plugin.

Does it work with variable products?

Yes. Variable products are found through their parent product, and variation SKUs are searchable too.

Does it work with page builders?

Yes. Use the shortcode in a shortcode or text element, or the block in the block editor.

Can I use more than one search box?

Yes. Each box works on its own and they share the same settings.

How are the popular products chosen?

The list uses your best sellers, then your newest products. You can turn it off or change its heading and size under WooCommerce Mhr Product Search General.

What happens to my data if I delete the plugin?

Deactivating keeps everything. Deleting the plugin removes its data only if you turned on “Delete data on uninstall”.
