Description
Most shoppers who reach checkout and leave were not saying no. They were
interrupted. A reminder an hour later, with one link that puts the same cart
back, brings a share of them back to finish.
This plugin captures the email address and mobile number a shopper types at
checkout, and if no order follows, sends a reminder by email, by SMS, or both,
through your Meser 10 account.
What it does
- Captures contact details on the classic checkout and on the block checkout.
- Sends a first reminder after a delay you set, and an optional second one.
- Each reminder carries a link that restores the exact cart and opens checkout with the shopper’s details filled in.
- The email lists the items left in the cart, with the total and a button.
- Every reminder carries a stop link. One click and that shopper gets nothing more.
- Shows the latest carts and how many were recovered, and keeps a log of what was sent.
- A test send, so the credentials and the texts can be checked before a shopper is involved.
Things it deliberately will not do
- It does not store anything unless the shopper ticks the consent box, while consent is required (the default).
- It never reminds a shopper who already ordered, on any device: orders are checked again before every reminder.
- A cart is marked reminded even when sending fails, so a failure cannot become a loop of charged messages.
- Carts are deleted after the retention period you set (30 days by default).
Before you start
You need a Meser 10 account with the API key and the numeric User ID. If another
Meser10 plugin on the site already holds them, this plugin uses the same ones.
SMS reminders go to Israeli mobile numbers and need SMS enabled on the account.
External services
This plugin sends email and text messages through the Meser10 platform, an email and SMS sending service. A request is made only when a reminder is due or when you press the test send button. What is sent is the recipient’s email address or mobile number, the message with its placeholders filled in (first name, store name, cart items and total, the cart and stop links), the sender name and reply-to address, and your Meser10 API key and User ID for authentication. No other external service is contacted; the w3.org and xmlsoap.org addresses in the code are XML namespace identifiers, not requests.

FAQ
-
Is a cart reminder allowed without consent?
-
In many countries, Israel included, a reminder like this is treated as a marketing
message and needs the recipient’s consent. That is why consent is required by
default. You can switch it off only if your local rules allow it. -
When is a cart considered abandoned?
-
When the shopper typed an email address or mobile number at checkout and no order
followed within the delay you set, counted from their last change. -
What happens when the shopper clicks the link?
-
The cart is restored with the same products, quantities and variations, and the
shopper lands on checkout with their name, email and phone already filled in.
