Manny Wenas Featured Slider displays your featured posts in a full-width hero slider with a thumbnail strip for navigation. No dependencies, no jQuery, no bloat.

Installation
- Upload the
manny-wenas-featured-sliderfolder to/wp-content/plugins/ - Activate the plugin through the Plugins menu in WordPress
- Go to Settings Manny Wenas Slider to configure your defaults
- Add the shortcode
[mwfeat]to any post or page, or use the Gutenberg block, or add the widget to a widget area

Does this work with any theme?

Yes. The slider is a standalone plugin and works with any WordPress theme.

How do I show only posts from specific categories?

Go to Settings Manny Wenas Slider and tick the categories you want to include. You can also pass a category directly in the shortcode:
[mwfeat category="your-category-slug"]. -
Can I use multiple sliders on one page?

Yes. Each shortcode or block instance renders independently with its own settings.

Does it work with the block editor (Gutenberg)?

Yes. There is a dedicated Gutenberg block under the Widgets category. Strip position, text overlay, and header settings are editable per-block from the sidebar Inspector panel.

Where do I set the number of slides and auto-advance speed?

Under Settings Manny Wenas Slider. You can also override these per shortcode:

What image size does it use?

The main slider uses the
largeimage size. The thumbnail strip uses thethumbnailsize. Both are standard WordPress image sizes.
