Each block wraps the same renderer as its matching shortcode, so a page built with blocks and a page built with shortcodes look identical.
• New: Elementor support with no extra add-on. Every feature is available as a shortcode, so it drops into Elementor’s built-in Shortcode widget, and your release and artist detail pages work inside an Elementor Theme Builder Single template. See the FAQ for the Theme Builder recipe.
• Major: The plugin’s settings were rebuilt from scratch as one modern settings page using WordPress’s own interface components — clear tabs for your API connection, general options, releases, artists, service ordering, custom services and system status. Service ordering is now a visible/hidden list you reorder by drag or keyboard, and custom service images use the standard WordPress media picker.
• Major: The Release, Artist and Gate Download edit screens were redesigned as native WordPress editor boxes — cleaner forms with proper toggles, date pickers and searchable artist/release selectors that look and behave like WordPress core.
• Major: The last bundled third-party library (the settings framework) has been removed. The plugin is now built entirely on WordPress’s own components, which means a smaller download, faster admin screens and no more conflicts with other plugins bundling the same library.
• Important: On the first admin visit after updating, the plugin automatically converts its stored settings and release/artist data to the new storage format. Nothing is deleted — your original values are kept in place as a safety net, so the conversion is safe to run and your catalog, gates and pre-saves keep working throughout. Large catalogs convert in small background batches; an admin notice shows progress until it completes.
• Improvement: Old bookmarks to the Download Gate settings page automatically land on its new tab on the main settings page.

• Improvement: The download-gate and pre-save popups were rebuilt on a modern, dependency-free dialog: the bundled Handlebars, json2 and jQuery-UI libraries are gone, and the stylesheet that loaded from Google’s CDN on every page is no longer requested. Keyboard and screen-reader behaviour improved (ESC to close, focus handling).
• Privacy: Visitor country detection for localized iTunes/Apple Music links no longer sends visitor IPs to a third-party service — it now uses your CDN’s own country header (Cloudflare, CloudFront, Vercel) with a browser-locale fallback.
• Privacy: The gate/pre-save consent line now only renders when your site has a Privacy Policy page set (no more dangling sentence), the fan-facing help popup is unbranded for white-label sites, and the Download Gate settings explain what your privacy policy should cover.
• Improvement: Analytics events now use Google Analytics 4 (gtag) — the old Universal Analytics calls stopped working when Google retired UA.
• Fix: Front-end texts are translatable again (translation domain mismatch), ?spotify-style share redirects now work on all themes, catalog sync can no longer clear a stored store link when the feed omits it, the artist grid cache actually caches, site search no longer hides other plugins’ content, and several PHP 8.2 warnings were resolved.
• Improvement: Removed all bundled third-party PHP libraries except the settings framework.
• New: The plugin is now fully translated into Spanish, French, Italian and German — admin screens and the fan-facing gate/pre-save widgets.
• New: System Logs can be exported to CSV (honoring the active filters) so support can ask for a site’s logs, and every log entry opens in a detail view instead of overflowing the table.
• Fix: Activating the plugin (and enabling the gate features) now registers its URLs immediately — previously release, gate and lite pages returned 404 until Permalinks were manually re-saved. Updating to this version also repairs installs currently in that state. HTTP requests now use WordPress’s own HTTP system and logging uses a lightweight native logger (same log table, existing entries preserved). This removes an end-of-life HTTP library and prevents conflicts with other plugins that bundle the same libraries.
• Performance: Removed the bundled moment.js library (14MB) — the plugin never used it. Front-end pages now load WordPress’s own bundled copy instead, keeping compatibility with any theme that relied on it. This also shrinks the plugin download significantly.
• Improvement: Reworked the System Logs and Gate Entries admin screens: working filter dropdowns with a Filter button, a search box (log messages / collected e-mails), correct column sorting, and a per-page setting in Screen Options that now actually saves.
• Fix: The “Gate” type filter on the Gate Entries screen never applied; it now works.
• Reliability: API calls now use sensible timeouts and up to 3 retries instead of unlimited waiting; API errors are reported in System Logs with the response details.

• Fix: Pre-save could fail silently on slow connections ‚ the session was not always ready before the pre-save was submitted, and errors were never shown. Sessions now wait properly and any failure is reported instead of failing quietly.

• Fix: A WordPress “critical error” could appear on the LabelGrid Tools settings page when the saved API token contained stray spaces or line breaks (for example when the key is copied from the dashboard, where it wraps across several lines). The token is now cleaned before use and connection errors are handled gracefully instead of crashing the page.
• Fix: Compatibility with the updated HTTP library — replaced a removed helper that could cause a fatal error while logging a failed LabelGrid API request, and hardened error handling around all LabelGrid API calls.

• Fix: System Logs and Gate Entries admin pages rendered blank on sites with large log tables. The screens loaded the entire table into memory before paginating, exhausting PHP’s memory limit. They now count, sort and paginate in the database and load only the current page.
• Fix: System Logs admin page could also error on PHP 8 when a log entry had an empty timestamp. Log dates are now formatted safely.
• Fix: Catalog sync could stop importing releases on PHP 8 when a release had an empty or malformed release/pre-order date. Dates are now parsed defensively; unparseable values are skipped (and logged) instead of aborting the whole sync.
• Fix: Catalog sync could fail to authenticate when the API token contained certain characters — the token was HTML-escaped before being sent. The raw token is now used.
• Fix: The plugin could appear connected/”enabled” when no API token was set. The connection status and the download gate now require a present token, and the “API disabled” admin notice shows whenever the integration is not authenticated.
• Fix: Release banner on the front end no longer errors on PHP 8 when a release has a missing or invalid date.
• Fix: WordPress 6.7+ no longer logs repeated “translation loading was triggered too early” notices — the gate settings are now registered on the correct hook and the plugin text domain is loaded correctly.
• Fix: Synced releases now show the artist in the title. When the catalog feed returns an empty display artist, the plugin builds the name from the release’s linked artists so titles read “Artist – Title” instead of “- Title”.
• Fix: Manual Synchronization (Sync content page) finished immediately without importing anything — the item total was read from the wrong field and was always 0. It now steps through and imports correctly.
• Improvement: Removed PHP 8 “undefined variable/property” warnings during release import (new releases, or releases without all three genres).
• Improvement: PHP 8.2+ / WordPress 7.0 compatibility — declared dynamic properties on the download-gate class and hardened log-level rendering on the System Logs and Gate Entries screens.
