KudoAsk Review Invites for WooCommerce

Description

Most happy customers never leave a review because nobody asked. KudoAsk asks for you, once, at the right time.

When a WooCommerce order reaches the status you choose (Completed by default), this plugin tells KudoAsk. After the delay you set there (3 days by default), KudoAsk sends the customer a short email from your store’s name with one button to your Google review page. Replies go to your own inbox.

Built to follow the review rules

• Every customer is asked the same way. There is no “were you happy?” screen that only sends happy customers to Google. Google’s review policy forbids selectively asking for positive reviews.
• No rewards for reviews. Google bans discounts or gifts in exchange for reviews, and KudoAsk refuses messages that offer them.
• One ask, not a campaign. Each customer is asked at most once in 180 days, with one optional reminder. Unsubscribing takes one click, and bounces and spam complaints are honoured automatically.
• Private by design. KudoAsk uses the customer’s address to send their invite, then drops it. No tracking pixels.

Free: KudoAsk is free and sends up to 50 invites a month per account. KudoAsk also has a free Google review link helper and review QR card maker.

How it works in WooCommerce

• Invites are queued in the background with WooCommerce’s Action Scheduler, so checkout and the order screen are never slowed down.
• Each order gets a note saying whether an invite was queued, or why not (for example, the customer was asked recently or unsubscribed).
• Re-saving or re-completing an order never sends a second invite.
• Compatible with High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS).

External services

This plugin connects to the KudoAsk API (https://www.kudoask.com/api/v1/), a service run by KudoAsk, to send review invitations. It is required for the plugin to work.

• When: when an order reaches the status chosen in the settings (Completed by default), and when you click “Test connection” on the settings page.
• What is sent: for an order, the customer’s billing email address, billing first name and the order number, with your KudoAsk API key. “Test connection” sends only your API key.
• What KudoAsk does with it: queues one review invitation email to that customer on your behalf, under the rules above. The email address is kept only until the invite is sent or skipped.
