Installation
Automatic Installation
- Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard.
- Navigate to Plugins → Add New.
- Search for IZ MD Pages.
- Click Install Now and then Activate.
Manual Installation
- Download the plugin ZIP archive.
- Upload the uncompressed
iz-md-pagesdirectory to your/wp-content/plugins/directory. - Activate the plugin through the Plugins menu in WordPress.
Post-Installation Setup
- Go to Settings → IZ MD Pages to configure enabled post types, URL format (Endpoint
/mdor Query Var?md), and front page options. - Visit Settings → IZ MD Pages → Templates to customize post type Markdown templates, headers, and footers.

How do visitors and AI agents access the Markdown version of a post?

By default, you can append
/mdto any post or page permalink (e.g.https://example.com/my-article/md). You can also switch the URL format to query parameter mode (?md) in the plugin settings. -
Does this affect my site’s regular HTML frontend or SEO?

No. Your standard HTML pages remain completely untouched. The plugin only outputs Markdown when the dedicated
/mdendpoint or?mdparameter is requested. Furthermore, discovery tags (<link rel="alternate" type="text/markdown">) are added to your HTML head to inform crawlers of the alternate format. -
Can I disable Markdown generation for specific posts?

Yes. On any post or page edit screen, locate the Markdown Page meta box and check Disable Markdown generation for this post.

Can I write custom Markdown manually for a specific post instead of using the template?

Yes. In the Markdown Page meta box, check Use custom Markdown for this post and enter your custom Markdown in the textarea.
