Get an Admin Toolbar menu that contains all the installed plugin that are installed using git along with relevant information for each one.

  1. Upload the ‘gitstatuspress’ to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress

Do I have to do anything specific to make the plugin work?

No, you don’t have to do anything specific. Just enable the plugin and you will notice a new menu named after “GitStatusPress” on your admin toolbar. If you have installed any plugins to your WordPress instance using git, then the relevant information will appear under that admin toolbar menu.
