GeoUp KI-Sichtbarkeit

Description

KI-Sichtbarkeit by GeoUp (“AI visibility by GeoUp”) is Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) for WordPress. Start with a free AI visibility check: five typical customer questions are put to ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overview, and you see whether your business is mentioned. Then optimize directly in WordPress: the plugin connects to GeoUp and automatically adds AI-optimized Schema.org (JSON-LD) markup, industry-specific FAQs, an llms.txt file and auto-generated blog posts (Auto-Blog) to your website. The plugin interface is in German and made for German-speaking businesses.

Why AI visibility matters

AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini answer customer questions with concrete recommendations. To do so, they rely on structured data: what a business is, what it offers and where it is located. The clearer this data is available, the more likely a business is mentioned in those answers. This plugin provides exactly that data.

What the plugin does

  • AI-optimized Schema.org (JSON-LD) — automatic injection into the <head> section with AI-specific fields: knowsAbout, areaServed, hasOfferCatalog, slogan, keywords and more
  • AI-generated FAQs — industry-specific questions and answers with Schema.org FAQPage markup. Embed via the [geoup_faqs] shortcode or the Gutenberg block
  • llms.txt — a structured summary of your business, served automatically at /llms.txt for AI crawlers
  • Auto blog (from Polaris) — AI-generated articles are published automatically on your WordPress site. AI-generated featured images carry a visible “created with AI” label
  • AI visibility score — see at a glance how well AI systems find your business
  • Blog synchronization — transfer missing articles with one click. Deleted articles are never re-created
  • SEO plugin compatible — detects Yoast SEO, Rank Math and All in One SEO automatically and only adds AI-specific fields, without conflicts
  • Automatic caching — schema and FAQs are cached locally for optimal performance
  • Complete address data — street, city, postal code, state and geo coordinates (latitude/longitude) for local AI search
  • LocalBusiness schema — complete Google-compliant LocalBusiness JSON-LD with services, opening hours and contact data
  • Free — Schema.org, FAQs and llms.txt are free forever

External services

This plugin connects to the GeoUp API (https://geoup.io) to generate and retrieve Schema.org data, FAQs, llms.txt content and blog articles for your website. All communication uses encrypted HTTPS connections exclusively.

The following requests are made to https://geoup.io:

  • Connecting (“Mit GeoUp verbinden” / connect with GeoUp): your website URL is sent to https://geoup.io/connect/wordpress to create and identify your account; in return you receive an API key that is stored in WordPress automatically (or, alternatively, entered manually).
  • Connection status: the plugin regularly requests your connection status, current plan and dashboard links from https://geoup.io (on every visit of the GeoUp admin screen and twice daily via WP-Cron).
  • Schema.org, FAQs & llms.txt: the plugin regularly retrieves AI-optimized structured data and FAQs for your website (cached, every 5 minutes in the admin and twice daily via WP-Cron) and serves the content of /llms.txt to your visitors.
  • Auto blog: from Polaris upwards the plugin retrieves AI-generated blog articles from https://geoup.io and publishes them on your website.
  • AI visibility scan (opt-in): only when you actively click “Kostenlosen Scan starten” (start free scan), GeoUp asks up to 5 AI systems (ChatGPT/OpenAI, Claude/Anthropic, Perplexity, Gemini/Google, Google AI Overviews) one typical customer question from your industry server-side and checks whether your business is mentioned in the answers. The scan never runs automatically. OpenAI privacy policy · Anthropic privacy policy · Perplexity privacy policy · Google privacy policy
  • Disconnecting: when you click “Verbindung trennen” (disconnect) in the plugin, this is reported to https://geoup.io and your API key is removed from WordPress locally.

Every request transmits:
* your website URL (for analysis and identification)
* an API key (for authentication)

No personal visitor data, no tracking cookies, GDPR compliant.

FAQ

Is the plugin free?

Yes. Schema.org, FAQs and llms.txt are free forever. With an upgrade in the GeoUp dashboard you add the full AI analysis (30 questions across 5 AI systems, repeated monthly), auto blog, competitor comparison, authority portals and more.

What is the auto blog?

The auto blog publishes AI-generated expert articles automatically on your WordPress site. AI systems prefer businesses with fresh, relevant content — every article is a new chance to appear in AI answers. Available from Polaris. AI-generated featured images are labeled as such on your site.

Does it work with my SEO plugin?

Yes. The plugin detects Yoast SEO, Rank Math and All in One SEO automatically and only adds AI-specific fields (knowsAbout, areaServed, etc.) that your SEO plugin does not generate. No conflicts.

Which data is transmitted?

Only your website URL and an API key. No personal data, no tracking cookies. GDPR compliant. See the “External services” section for details.

How often is the data updated?

Schema and FAQs refresh every 5 minutes while you use the admin screen. In addition, an automatic background sync (WordPress cron, twice daily) retrieves schema, FAQs and new auto-blog articles — no manual action needed. You can also refresh or synchronize manually at any time in the GeoUp admin screen.

What happens when I deactivate the plugin?

Schema.org, FAQs and llms.txt are removed from your website. Your data remains stored in the GeoUp dashboard — you can reactivate the plugin at any time.

Do I have to edit HTML or code?

No. The plugin injects Schema.org into the <head> section automatically. You embed FAQs via shortcode or Gutenberg block — no code required.

What happens to deleted blog articles?

Articles you delete in WordPress are not re-created on the next sync. The plugin remembers which articles you removed.

Does the plugin help with Google rankings?

Schema.org helps Google understand your content and can lead to rich snippets. In addition, the plugin optimizes your website for AI search engines such as ChatGPT and Perplexity.

Changelog

1.2.7

1.2.2

  • All admin texts now use the formal German address (“Sie”), matching the GeoUp dashboard.
  • Reloading an old connect return link on an already connected site no longer shows an “invalid link” error — the plugin simply returns to its settings page.
  • Connect hint no longer mentions credit cards.
  • Uninstall now also removes the one-time connect tokens (dynamically named transients).

1.2.1

  • The AI directory listing (KI-Branchenbuch) is now a paid feature: the free plan still analyses your site (data source for Schema.org, FAQs and llms.txt), but the public listing is published from Polaris upwards. New “KI-Branchenbuch-Eintrag” card shows the state and the upgrade path.
  • Feature list before connecting reordered (AI visibility check first) and FAQ description reworded.
  • Setup notice after connecting now reflects that the analysis starts automatically.

1.2.0

  • New: complete visual refresh of the admin screen matching the GeoUp design system (monochrome palette, new logo)
  • New: AI-generated featured images carry a visible “Bild mit KI generiert” (image created with AI) label on the website
  • New: from Polaris upwards the full AI analysis status replaces the free scan card; plan names now include Orion/Galaxis
  • Improved: blog sync transfers articles in pages (server-side pagination) — large libraries sync reliably in batches
  • Improved: connect flow texts clarified; settings toggles save automatically (removed redundant save button)
  • Fixed: /llms.txt was served with an HTTP 404 status code and is now delivered with HTTP 200
  • Fixed: blog sync sends the effective site URL, fixing syncs behind tunnels or staging hosts

1.1.0

  • New: opt-in AI visibility scan — on click, GeoUp checks up to 5 AI systems (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Google) with one typical customer question each and reports whether your business is mentioned. Runs only on click, never automatically
  • New: llms.txt is served automatically at /llms.txt — a structured summary of your business for AI systems
  • New: guided onboarding via “Bei GeoUp registrieren” directly from the plugin
  • Improved: plan names in the plugin now read Free/Polaris (instead of internal codes), consistent with GeoUp pricing
  • Improved: all upgrade links point to https://geoup.io/preise
  • Security: the return leg of the register flow is hardened against CSRF (one-time token check + API key format validation)

1.0.4

  • Improved: blog synchronization now runs in batches (10 articles per request) with a progress indicator — large article sets no longer hit timeouts
  • Improved: featured images are downloaded in the background (one cron event per image) instead of blocking the sync
  • Performance: schema and FAQs never block the front end (stale-while-revalidate) — a slow GeoUp API cannot delay your homepage
  • Performance: replaced N+1 database queries in the sync check with a single query

1.0.3

  • New: automatic background sync (WordPress cron, twice daily) — schema, FAQs and new auto-blog articles are retrieved and published without manual action
  • The manual “refresh” and “sync blog articles” buttons remain available for immediate updates
  • Fix: the scheduled refresh event never fired (invalid ‘weekly’ interval) — replaced with the built-in ‘twicedaily’ interval

1.0.0

  • Initial release
  • AI-optimized Schema.org (JSON-LD) for ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini
  • AI-generated FAQs with shortcode and Gutenberg block
  • Auto blog — publish AI-generated articles automatically on WordPress
