Description
“Add $12.50 more to unlock free shipping.” Nothing nudges an order over
the line like showing shoppers how close they are — and this bar does it
with zero configuration, because it reads the free-shipping rules
your store already has.
- Your store’s rules are the single source of truth. The bar finds
the Free shipping method (with a minimum order amount) in the shipping
zone WooCommerce itself matches for the cart — it never re-implements
zone matching, so it can never disagree with your checkout. - Honest math. The cart is measured exactly the way WooCommerce’s own
free-shipping check measures it: discounts subtracted (unless your rule
ignores them), tax-display aware. - A congratulations state the moment free shipping unlocks.
- Shows on the cart page and shop pages, each toggleable on one small
settings screen (WooCommerce Free Shipping Bar). - No free-shipping rule? No nag. The bar stays hidden and the
settings screen explains where a rule is added. - Lightweight by design: no JavaScript, one small stylesheet, one option.

A separate plugin, Gatemi Free Shipping Bar for
WooCommerce,
sold on gatemi.com, does more with the bar: your own wording (with
{remaining}, {threshold} and {total} placeholders), brand colors with a
live preview, live refresh without a page reload, mini-cart and checkout
placements, coupon-based free-shipping rules, and a block + shortcode for
manual placement.

FAQ
The bar does not appear — why?
The bar appears once a shipping zone has an enabled Free shipping method whose requirement is A minimum order amount. The settings screen (WooCommerce Free Shipping Bar) tells you when no such rule exists and links to where one is added.
My free shipping requires a coupon
This plugin reads minimum-amount rules. Coupon-based rules (“A valid free shipping coupon”, “either”, “both”) do not reduce to an amount to count down to, so no bar is shown for them — telling shoppers to spend money for a discount they could get free is the one thing a bar must not do. The separate plugin named above handles those rules.
Does it slow my store down?
No. It renders on the server with the page, loads one small stylesheet and no JavaScript, and does nothing at all on pages it does not show on.

Changelog
1.0.2
- Fixed: the bar now appears on a block-based Cart page too. New stores get WooCommerce’s Cart block, which never runs the classic template hook the bar used, so the “Cart page” placement showed nothing there; it now renders above the Cart block from the same setting. The bar reflects the cart as the page loaded, as on every other placement.
- Declares HPOS and Cart & Checkout Blocks compatibility to WooCommerce, so the plugin no longer appears as incompatible with High-Performance Order Storage on new stores.
- The shared Gatemi admin menu has been removed: the plugin registers only its own screen under WooCommerce, and nothing above it.
1.0.1
- The settings screen restyled to the Gatemi admin design language: flat cards, toggle switches, dark-mode aware. No behavior changes.
1.0.0
- Initial release: progress bar from the store’s own minimum-amount
free-shipping rule, discount- and tax-aware math, congratulations
state, cart and shop placements with toggles.
