Description
If you’re using Amazon Attribution to check the performance of your third-party advertising (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, etc.) then you might want to send visitors to your own website, then have them click a link to Amazon from there. The problem with this approach is that it’ll strip away the Amazon Attribution tags so you’ll lose that tracking.
This plugin will check incoming traffic for the Amazon Attribution variables then search the page being viewed for outgoing links to Amazon and add these values to the link. Your tracking will work!
FAQ
-
Does this plugin permanently change the text on my website?
-
No, the links are changed dynamically for each visitor, and only if the plugin detects Amazon Attribution tags on the incoming link. The actual text of the page(s) of your site isn’t changed in the database.
-
I already have some variables on my outgoing Amazon links, will these be affected?
-
No, although Amazon (weirdly) seems to require their attribution tags to be first after the URL, we’ll look for any existing tags and append them to the URL so you’ll retain any already there.
