FAQ

Does this require WooCommerce?

Yes. FoodCamp is built on top of WooCommerce and will not activate without it.

How do I display only one category?

Use the [foodcamp_category] shortcode with an id or slug attribute, for example [foodcamp_category slug="pizza"].

Do I have to write shortcodes by hand?

No. FoodCamp includes a Shortcode Generator under its settings page. Pick your display type, category, heading, and sort order, then copy the generated shortcode straight into any page or post.

Can customers share individual products?

Yes. Both the product cards in the grid and the product options popup modal include a share button.

Will it work with my theme?

FoodCamp works with any theme that supports WooCommerce, and its styles are self-contained so your menu looks consistent.

Is there a Pro version?

Yes. FoodCamp Pro adds a drag-and-drop Menu Editor, Choice Groups for add-ons and extras, timed menu availability, opening times, sector-based delivery with tiered charges, pickup discounts, a live order dashboard with alerts, manual orders, a customer order tracker, receipt and invoice printing, and Frequently Bought Together recommendations.

Which features are Pro only?

The free version includes the menu grid, shortcodes, shortcode generator, options popup, AJAX side cart, share buttons and out-of-stock marking. Everything else, including the Menu Editor, Choice Groups, opening times, delivery sectors, order dashboard, order tracker and receipt printing, is Pro only. See the last question in this FAQ for the full list.

Does Pro let customers track their orders?

Yes. FoodCamp Pro includes a storefront order tracker with live countdown, automatic status progression and the ability to request a payment method change.

Can I stop orders when my restaurant is closed?

Yes, with FoodCamp Pro. Set your weekly opening times, special closures and holidays, or force the store open or closed. Customers can still browse and fill their cart, but cannot place an order while you are closed.

Can I print receipts for the kitchen?

Yes, with FoodCamp Pro. You can print Normal (A4) invoices and Thermal receipts, with a layout editor to choose exactly what appears.

Can customers choose add-ons like toppings and sauces?

Yes, with FoodCamp Pro. Choice Groups let you create toppings, sizes, sauces and extras with minimum and maximum selections and individual prices.

Can I set different delivery charges for different areas?

Yes, with FoodCamp Pro. Create sectors and set a delivery charge for each, with tiered pricing, free-delivery thresholds and pickup discounts.

Is it translation ready?

Yes. A .pot file is included in the languages folder.

• Set a minimum and maximum number of selections per group
• Required groups and pick-one groups are clearly labelled in the popup
• Mark a whole group as in stock or out of stock
• Attach any group to any item, and choose which choices apply to each item
• Drag and drop to reorder groups on an item, and choices inside a group
• Move choices between groups by dragging
• Prices and choice names are always verified on the server, so customers cannot tamper with them in the browser

Pro – Menu Availability Control

• Set any item to Available, Unavailable, Hidden or Out of Stock in one click
• Show your own custom message on unavailable items, such as “Sold out for today”
• Timed availability: make an item unavailable for the rest of today, until a specific day within the next week, or until you turn it back on
• Items come back automatically when the time is up, with no manual work and no reliance on visitors or a server cron

Does FoodCamp connect to any external services?

This plugin does not send any data to external services, does not use cookies or tracking, and does not phone home.

The plugin’s admin includes a single “Upgrade to Pro” screen that lists optional Pro features. It contains a plain link that opens the FoodCamp Pro purchase page hosted by Freemius (https://checkout.freemius.com/). The link is only followed if you click it. Which fonts and licenses are bundled?

The Rubik font is bundled locally (no requests to Google Fonts) and is licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. The full licence text is included in fonts/OFL.txt.
