Description

This is very simple plugin which adds the very famous WordPress.Com follow button which appears on every WordPress.Com blogs at the right bottom corner to WordPress.ORG Sites.
The Plugin also has a built in subscription management system which makes it something more than just a plugin

This version (10.0.6) removes four (2) internal bugs and resolves the problem of star.png not displaying when WordPress Directory is not the same as Home URL.

If your Blog or Website is powered by Jetpack you must use Follow Button for Jetpack Plugin instead of this Plugin

Installation

NOTE: If you use any other subscription managment plugin you can import the subscribers list as csv file to the inbuilt subscription manager of this plugin

Install the plugin (Search for “Follow” from the “Add Plugin” section” OR Manually download and upload and install the plugin)

Activating the FOLLOW PLUGIN:
1. Installing and Activate Follow Plugin

  1. Create a WordPress Page Called Subscribe THE URL ADDRESS OF THE PAGE MUST BE – “/subscribe”

  2. Open the subscribe page (Editor) Click the ôS2″ button on the QuickBar to automatically insert the Subscription Form. (see screenshot-3)

  3. Go to Follow Plugin Menu (Listed Below the Settings Menu of WordPress) and then go to Settings>>Appearance and follow as written red letters.

If you want to hide the Subscribe page go to WordPress DashBoard>>>>Pages>>>All Pages>>>Edit Subscribe Page>>>Uncheck the Show this page in navigation menu to hide the page

1. What is Follow?

Follow is just a simple plugin which adds a follow button on WordPress.org site.(the follow button which wordpress.com users have)

2. Why Follow?

Well, the answer is very simple. I and many of the WordPress.org users(may be you too) are jealous of the follow button that appears on
right bottom of all wordpress.com users. And I think why WordPress.org users must be deprived from it.Thats It!

3. I followed all instructions but when users subscribe to my blog via follow button it shows 404 error and page not found?

This is because you have not made the Subscribe Page with permalink as “/subscribe”

4. How can I hide the Subscribe Page?

If you want to hide the Subscribe page go to WordPress DashBoard>>>>Pages>>>All Pages>>>Edit Subscribe Page>>>Uncheck the Show this page in navigation menu to hide the page.
