Installation

This section describes how to install the plugin and get it working.

  1. Upload the flo-instaram directory to your /wp-content/plugins/ directory
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
  3. Visit the ‘FLO Social’ menu item in your admin sidebar to enter your Instagram user ID and the Access Token. To generate the access token, the plugin provides a link to our server which will redirect you to http://instagram.com to authenticate and authorize our application. Once you authorize the app, it will generate the access token which will be shown on the screen. We do not store any user data on our end, the only reason of sending the user to our site is that Instagram requires the client secrete key, which we can not make public.
  4. Use the widget or the shortcode. Check documentation for more details: http://docs.flothemes.com/flo-instagram-plugin/

FAQ

Instagram Images Not Showing or Broken

There will be occasions when the API has been changed by Instagram, and the Access token that was previously created no longer works.

In this case the feed may disappear. To get your images working again it is necessary to regenerate the access token. Simply go to Flo Social > Then click “Get Access Toke” and create a new USER ID and ACCESS TOKEN, then “save changes”. You feed should now be showing.

Broken Image Links

Another issue may be that the images are showing a broken image icon. If that’s the case there are 3 things that may resolve this issue.

  1. Update your plugin to the most recent version, go to plugins and check if there is an update available.
  2. Clear your browser cache, and any caching on your site (via plugins etc).
  3. For widgets and feeds, Change the image size for your images, this will regenerate the thumbnails for the images.
